Baskets and bottles….

I made a stop at our local thrift store last week looking for a couple of different things we were in need of. Mainly a twin bed frame and a nightstand for my daughter. Unfortunately, on this day, I struck out on both of those. But don’t you worry! I definitely didn’t come come home empty-handed! (Which I RARELY do from ANY thrift store!) I brought home this gorgeous, BIG basket with wooden handles and several different sized decorative glass bottles! At the MOMENT I have no idea what I’m going to do with them….but again, don’t you worry, I will find something! :-) This little story illustrates the “THING” I have for decorative baskets and bottles! There’s just something about them….especially when you put them together.  They are such a lovely combination. So when I discovered these two websites, needless to say, I just HAD to share! My ONE Good Thing for today is TWO good source websites! bottles. This is reportedly where Martha gets all her bottles, jars, etc. for all her wonderful projects! has about every conceivable bottle you could ever need! Here are a few of my favorites!

And here a couple of cute ideas from MarthaStewartWeddings.comusing some of the other bottles they sell.

To create this Italian specialty, place a few snips of herbs in an empty bottle, pour in olive oil, cork, and seal with clip art.
Delicious (and DIY) Wedding Favors Raspberry Vodka Mixing these totable potables is as easy as whipping up fruit-infused booze, pouring it into bottles, and tying on a recipe for a Rasmopolitan cocktail.

Welcome guests to your reception with refreshing drinks that are tagged with their table numbers. The chilled mint lemonade shown here is delicious for spring and summer occasions. In the cooler months, serve apple cider or hot cocoa in mugs.

Another serious weakness………….cute baskets!!!!!!!  ANY kind of basket!! has pretty much every conceivable shape, size and color of basket you could dream of!

A few I have been drooling over lately………..
So the next time you are in need of bottles or baskets to help beautify your world….you know where to look!

I love baskets and have only paid full price for a few. I also love decorative glass jars!! I’m using both to make nice gifts for my sons’ teachers!

I love baskets too. I buy them at thrift stores and yard sales. I give all natureal/cheap ones to my Cockatoo to chew up (about 3 a week) and use many for storage around the house. I checked out, but her prices were just a little high for my budget, so will continue to shop the thrift stores. Love your blog. Take care.
