Oh Fräulein Maria….I couldn’t agree with you more!! When I look at all the pretty packaging being highlighted this time of year….I am ALWAYS drawn to the “brown paper packages”. There’s just something about it’s “realness” (in the midst of a very commercialized holiday!). It feels like a throwback to a simpler time when your packages literally were wrapped in brown paper and tied up with string…rather than thrown into a flimsy plastic grocery sack that most likely tears on the way to the car and then cans of corn and 2 liter bottles of Diet Coke are rolling EVERYWHERE!
Sorry, got a little carried away there. Yes…brown paper packages are my fav. Especially when they are “dressed up” with beautiful “accessories“. I started “pinning” some of my favorites on Pinterest several weeks ago for my own inspiration when it came to present-wrapping time…and just couldn’t stop! There are SO many great ideas out there.

Wow! Great post and lots of great ideas. I’m really surprised to see there’s no comments. I found the link on Pinterest (isn’t Pinterest the best?). I have an Etsy shop and send my jewelry items out wrapped in a brown paper lunch bag with cream & red string tied around it. I like the old-fashioned, simple look (plus the folded bag gives it a little extra cushioning). I love the idea of including a little piece of Christmas candy – I may have to do that too! Thanks for sharing.

I, too, LOVE plain brown paper packages and am slightly put off by the patterned, colorful papers. They are just clutter to my eyes ! The endless possibilities of decorating the plain brown paper must be some of the appeal. Okay, and I guess I have to admit that brown is a favorite color. So I love all your well decorated, plain brown paper packages !
