    Hello,

I saw on Pinterest where you made DIY Fabric Softener. I went to your website but for some reason I cannot locate it. This interests me because I believe my 2 year old is allergic to dryer sheets. I am thinking if I make my own maybe this would help. Thanks for sharing this information.

Hello Melissa!!! What you can do is take a tea bag and rip it open. Pour all the tea leaves into a microwave-safe bowl. Then fill the bowl with water. After that, you simply put the bowl in the microwave for 2 minutes. You cannot put the tea bag in as it is, because of the staple. It will cause the microwave to spark (and BOYYYY we don’t want that!!). You will need a strong smelling tea. You could use coffee if you are into that smell…i hope this helps!!!!

Hey, any suggestions about keeping a shower drain from clogging or partially clogging up? I have to treat mine monthly with chemicals to keep it running smoothly. This can get expensive! It hasn’t ever completely stopped up but often drains super slow which causes issues with soap scum around the bottom of the tub! Thanks for all the great tips Jillee! :)

hey i read your comment and we had the same problem. I don’t know if this will help you but we took a wire hanger (made it in to a long metal stick, with a little hook on the end) we stuck it down our drain gave it a little turn and pulled, it got stuck a bit but we kept pulling. so much came up with it! we did it a few more times and it cleared right up! we were using all kinds of chemicals but they did nothing to get rid of it. we cleaned the hanger off and kept it under our sink and we use it as part of our regular cleaning. we never had a clogged drained since. i have been doing this for over a year!( got the idea from my mother in law, four women with hair down to their waist living in the house -made her find a cheep solution. she has been doing it for years)

You can also try baking soda, vinegar and boiling water as an alternative to chemical de-cloggers. Pour 1/2 a box of baking soda down the drain, then 1/2 a cup of vinegar. Immediately plug the drain with a towel or rag to keep the foam from coming out. Let it do it’s magic for about 30 minutes. Then pour a tea kettle full of boiling water slowly down the drain. Might have to do it one more time if it’s REALLY clogged. I did this plus plunge a couple of times when our shower would absolutely not drain thanks to having 4 girls in house who can’t seem to remember to keep their hair ties from going down the drain. Not only is it cheaper but better for your health than the chemicals. :)

      TARA & BOBBIE!!!

My name is Wanda Burns, and I have a website kinda like this one. The link is http://www.wix.com/askbwandab/shrimpnlobster . But I don’t know the source of your problem, but I know that more than likely, it is from hair, like Tara said in her comment. The wire is a good idea!!! Tara, you mentioned that it got stuck, here is something that won’t get stuck:)! I work at a hair studio, and my boss gave me a hi-light wire, which is the little plastic do-dad that they use to pull your hair through the foil to make the hi-lights (THAT was an earful!!). You stick that down the drain, and it pulls out a LOT of hair!! And you all know how cheap Hydrogen Peroxide is (i hope I spelt that correctly! lol!)! If you pour that down the drain, (Only like 1/4 cup) it should help too! I hope this helps, and Tara, I hope that this helps with the wire getting stuck!! :)

Jill has a post on making lotion bars with shea butter and I can’t find shea butter that isn’t expensive, so I look high and low for a recipe without shea butter, but had no success until afters weeks of looking. I found it on ehow. Thank you so much ehow! I tried it and it came out absolutely wonderful. Just type in on ehow How to make lotion bars using coconut oil. I’ve also used things around the house as molds, such a cookies cutters. You just wrap foil wrap around the bottom and edges, making sure it doesn’t leak (try it with water first) . Make sure the foil is smooth, first or else it won’t come out right. This saves you money instead of buying a whole bunch of silicone molds!
