By now you’re probably aware of many of the health and beauty benefits of essential oils, but have you ever explored using them in food? I’ve only really dabbled with using essential oils in the kitchen, like using a couple of drops of lime essential oil in place of lime juice in my favorite blender salsa. I was interested in learning more ways to utilize essential oils in the kitchen, but I never really sat down to figure it out. After a little research I discovered that there are actually spice blends you can buy that contain essential oils!
We spent some time exploring all sorts of ways to use these new spice blends, and I’m very excited to share what we learned with you today! And before you ask… I haven’t been able to choose a favorite! I think I might need to do another round of taste-testing to make that decision… ;-)
Baker’s Delight is a blend of all your favorite warm and comforting baking spices. Ingredients include cinnamon, ginger, clove, allspice, star anise, nutmeg, pepper, and sweet orange essential oil.

Spice up your traditional sugar cookies by sprinkling Baker’s Delight onto the dough before baking. Or sprinkle a bit into your morning coffee, or a cozy cup of hot chocolate. If you make homemade cinnamon rolls, replace part of the cinnamon with this spice blend for a punch of delicious fall flavors!
Omaha Prime is a great steakhouse-style seasoning blend. Ingredients include pink himalayan salt, black peppercorns, paprika, thyme, rosemary, coriander, garlic, red pepper flakes, and Italian lemon essential oil.
This is my husband’s favorite blend, because it adds great flavor to anything smoked, grilled, or barbecued. I’m sure we’ll be using it extensively when warmer weather (also known as grilling weather) returns! Omaha Prime also tastes great on other meats, like poultry and fish.
This Italian spice blend adds a delicious Italian twist to your favorite breads, pastas, and sauces. Ingredients include basil, marjoram, garlic powder, oregano, parsley, red pepper flakes, and rosemary essential oil.
Use the Italian blend to make a simple pasta sauce that’s packed with flavor. Saute a diced onion, then add a large can of crushed tomatoes to the pan and season with the Italian blend to taste. You’ll be amazed at how fresh and flavorful that sauce tastes!
Try the Italian blend sprinkled on hash browns or roast potatoes. You can also make super easy and delicious Italian biscuit bites! Cut store-bought biscuit dough into 4 smaller pieces, then sprinkle each piece with Italian blend and bake. Serve with marinara sauce for a quick and tasty snack.
The Mexican blend is my go-to seasoning to add flavor to tacos, enchiladas, guacamole, and more! Ingredients include chili powder, cayenne powder, cumin powder, Greek oregano, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, onion powder, black pepper, and lime essential oil.
Use the Mexican blend to make super simple guacamole. Just add it to the flesh of an avocado to taste, and mix! Serve alongside your favorite Mexican recipes. I love sprinkling this spice blend on refried beans. It adds so much flavor!
Salt & Pepper with Lime
The Salt & Pepper with Lime blend is a great choice for adding flavor without overpowering the taste of what you’re seasoning. Ingredients include pink Himalayan sea salt, ground black peppercorns, and lime essential oil.
Use Salt & Pepper with Lime to season quality steaks or pork chops. It will add flavor and a bit of brightness, while still letting the flavor of the meat shine through. This blend can help you make a delicious arugula salad in seconds, too. Toss baby arugula leaves in a small amount of olive oil, then season with Salt & Pepper with Lime. No chopping, slicing, or dicing required!
The All-Purpose blend is truly a seasoning you can use on just about anything. Add it to marinades, BBQ sauce, spice rubs, meatloaf, red sauces, popcorn, and more! Ingredients include garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, black pepper, cayenne powder, paprika, salt, rosemary essential oil, cilantro essential oil, and sweet orange essential oil.
Stir it into homemade chili, or sprinkle it on french fries or potato chips. Use it anywhere you want a bit more flavor!
The No Salt blend is another great all-purpose option, and it’s perfect for people who are watching their sodium intake. Ingredients include garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, parsley, ground pepper, rosemary essential oil, and dill essential oil.
Use No Salt blend to add flavor to foods that already contain a salty element, like soy sauce.
