8 Surprising Things You Never Knew About Your Mattress

Sleep Number

This post is sponsored by Sleep Number®. As always, all ideas and opinions are entirely my own.

My husband and I recently celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary, and during those 30 years we’ve experienced our fair share of sleep-related issues. He’s a world-class snorer, which has definitely been a challenge at times. And he and I definitely have different preferences where mattresses are concerned. I like things soft and he prefers more firm support. But since marriage is all about compromise, we’ve done our best over the past 3 decades to put up with the less-than-ideal aspects of sharing a bed.

Sleep Number

But my views about sleep issues started to change several weeks ago. I was invited to visit my local Sleep Number store in Murray, Utah to learn more about their mattresses, and I had a really great experience there! The store was beautiful and spacious, and the employees were very helpful and knowledgable. An employee named Carly gave me a great introduction to their technology and helped me find out my personal Sleep Number (it’s 35, if you’re curious!) Carly explained to me that a Sleep Number mattress could help solve my sleep issues, since their mattresses are adjustable on both sides. My husband could have the firm support he wanted, and I could have the softer surface I wanted. In my mind, she was telling me we could have our cake AND eat it too, and that’s when I knew I had to have a Sleep Number mattress! (To learn more about why Sleep Number beds are great for couples, click here.)

We’ve been loving our i8 Sleep Number mattress, and I’ve been learning more and more about how important it is to get a good night’s sleep. In fact, after my visit to the Sleep Number store, it dawned on me how little I actually knew about sleep! So today I wanted to share a few of the surprising things that I’ve learned recently about mattresses, beds, and all things sleep-related. Hopefully we can all use these tips to start getting the good night’s rest we all need!

Sleep Number

1. You should replace your mattress every 5-10 years.

According to the National Sleep Foundation, a good mattress should have a lifespan of about 7-10 years. After this period, your mattress will be less supportive and less hygienic than it used to be, so it should be replaced with a new model. People who have trouble sleeping or have chronic pain conditions should consider replacing their mattress more often, about every 5-7 years.

However, the guidelines above do not apply to Sleep Number beds. In fact, most of their beds have a 25-year limited warranty. This means that you can expect the lifespan of your Sleep Number bed to be about twice as long as a standard mattress!

Sleep Number

2. If you take a long time to fall asleep, it could be a sign to replace your mattress.

Studies suggest that a person who is comfortable should be able to fall asleep in about 15 minutes. If it takes you longer than 15 minutes to fall asleep most nights, you may want to consider replacing your mattress with a comfier or more supportive model.

If your feet almost always feel cold like mine do, then you probably already know that cold toes and feet can also make it hard to fall asleep. But I recently learned that the new Sleep Number 360 smart beds have a foot-warming feature! Turn it on, get cosy, and you’ll be drifting off to sleep in no time. :-)

Sleep Number

3. If you toss and turn during the night, it could be time for a new mattress.

A lumpy mattress with exposed springs should obviously be replaced, but there are other signs to look for as well. If you’re not sleeping as well as you used to, it may be time to consider a new mattress. (Especially if you’re finding it easier to sleep away from home!)

Sleep Number

4. Using your bed as your home office can keep you awake at night.

Experts agree that your bed should be a screen-free zone. The screens on modern electronics emit blue light that can disrupt your body’s normal sleep cycle, but that’s not the only reason you should avoid screens close to bedtime. If you’re answering emails or texts before falling asleep, your brain can start to expect that it needs to be more active during that time, which can make it harder for you to fall asleep.

Sleep Number

5. The right mattress can reduce your stress levels.

Studies suggest there may be a link between poor sleep and a person’s overall stress levels. A 2009 study found that people who slept on a new, medium-firm mattress experienced less pain and got better sleep, and ultimately reported experiencing a decrease in their stress levels. This suggests that if you’re experiencing a lot of stress in your life, you could probably benefit from a good night’s sleep on a good mattress!

Sleep Number

6. You may be allergic to your mattress.

If you are experiencing more allergy or asthma symptoms than usual, it could be caused by dust mites in your mattress and bedding. Yuck! These microscopic creatures feed on dead skin cells and they thrive in warm, moist environments, making your mattress a haven for dust mites. According to WebMD, nearly 20 million Americans are allergic to dust mites. If you suspect you might be allergic to dust mites, you may want to consider replacing your mattress to help improve your symptoms.

Sleep Number

7. Being well-rested can improve your physical and mental health.

According to Sleep.org, getting 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night can benefit you in several ways. You may feel less hungry, get sick less often, and have more energy throughout the day. You can also experience mental health benefits, including feeling more productive, having better control of your emotions, and being more focused and able to learn.

Sleep Number

8. There’s no “right answer” when it comes to choosing a good mattress.

Every body is different, which means that different people may need different things in a mattress. It may be a matter of supporting a stiff lower back, or it may just come down to a matter of preference between soft and firm mattresses. The best mattress for you is simply the mattress that gives you the best night’s sleep!

Sleep Number

When it comes to finding the perfect mattress, it’s hard to beat a Sleep Number because they’re so customizable! Their mattresses have 21 possible firmness settings, so you can find the one that’s perfect for you. And Sleep Number knows that it takes time to decide if a mattress is the right one, so that’s why they offer a 100 Night In-Home Trial. If you’re not able to find the perfect sleep setting during that period, just send it back!

Another cool thing about Sleep Number mattresses is that they can come equipped with SleepIQ™ technology. SleepIQ uses biometric sensors to track how well you sleep at night, and you can use those insights to help you dial in the perfect settings to get your best sleep ever. (You can learn more about SleepIQ technology and how it works here.)

  • I used to love sleeping on my stomach but after I reached the age of 25 or so, my back would start aching so bad when I did that I had to stop. Now my back aches that way no matter how I sleep if I lay in bed for more than about 6 hours. That makes it really hard to get a full night’s sleep. I’m hoping that a new better mattress will be just the thing that I need to get better rest.

    • Almost forgot, my closest sleep number store is in St. George, Utah, about 45 minutes away. It’s a brand new store and very nice looking.

  • Dover Mall store in Dover DE is the closest to me. I take a long time to fall asleep and feel our mattress is to firm, as soon as we bought it we had to put a thick cover over it

  • My closest Sleep Number store is in Plainfield which is almost an hour away. I have had a Sleep Number bed for years and would love to win a new one so I can continue to have a good night’s sleep.

  • Hi-my closet store is Appleton, WI. Macy’s inside Fox River Mall which is 25 minutes away.

I would be so very humbled to win a sleep number bed! I struggle with restrictions due to double spinal scoliosis rotation which brings with it uneven pelvis, hips, shoulders and leg length. Throw in multiple cervical disc issues also. I haven’t had a good night sleep in decades.

I’m not on disability but have ended my working career related to the above mentioned.

    Enough of blah blah blah.
On an exciting note we are expecting our for grandchild 10/10/17, it’s a boy! Would be nice if I would wake up with no hip, back, shoulder, and neck pain. 100% focus on enjoying yoga, walking, camping, hiking, fishing, kayaking and enjoying grandchild on a regularly scheduled time. Once I “play” I “pay” for week of soreness and unable to shower comfortably to say the least.

Yoga, acupuncture, walking, tens unit help recover over days.

  • Sleep Number Rockford is the closest to me. Only 7 miles! My biggest sleep issue is insomnia. I cannot fall asleep and stay asleep all night. A new mattress would be wonderful!

  • my closest store is 4 miles away. I just got a CPAP machine to help me sleep better at night. I would love to win this mattress to replace my 15 year old mattress and get even better sleep.

  • My closest store is located in Santee, CA. I don’t have any sleep issues per se, but I really need a new mattress. Thanks for the opportunity.

  • The nearest store is in beautiful Kalispell, Mt. I would to have a new, good mattress as my current one is somewhere around 15 years old. It always seems there is something else to spend the money on, so my back will always ache. Today I could hardly walk with the pain. As I age it should be golden years not painful years. Thanks for the opportunity.

  • My nearest store is Maple Grove, MN. You can tell exactly where we sleep in our bed! It’d be great for both of us but especially my hubby as his arms fall asleep and he has so many aches and pains after sleeping in our bed. I wouldn’t mind a mattress with custom comfort! Congrats on celebrating your 30th – we just celebrated our 31st! Thanks for the opportunity!

  • Our closest store is in Indianapolis, IN. We currently have a sleep number bed, but we have a very early model and have had it going on 12 years soon. I have lower back problems and we have frequently looked at getting a newer model or a new type of mattress altogether to help me. But, the cost is so prohibitive.

  • Closest store to me is in Camas, WA. We have tried one of these mattresses and are convinced that they would be the answer for a good nights sleep. We mostly use hand me down mattresses. Would love to win one of these great beds! Maybe someday…

  • I had a sleep number bed for over 20 years but I had to downside and the bed needed to be smaller. I now sleep on a regular mattress but really miss the sleep number mattress. My nearest store would be Huntsville, AL.

  • I want a Sleep Number bed!!! My back and hips are beginning to age faster than me….I ache when I get up…

Also, my fiance wants a soft soft soft mattress….I like a medium soft…a regular mattress does NOT work for us!

  • My nearest store is Happy Valley, OR. My husband has back and hip problems and a sleep number would help tremendously. Thanks!

  • The nearest store is in Deer Park. My biggest sleep issue is waking up several times a night, however I do read (Kindle) or am on the computer just before I call it a night.

  • My nearest store is in San Diego. I’ve been having back pain and I think it’s our mattress. We’ve been talking about a sleep number so this post was very timely.

  • Oh my goodness, we love our Sleep Number bed! Our closest store is Gainesville, VA. We got a sleep number after my third child – and my fourth pregnancy was the ONLY one that I didn’t have horrible back pain during – I attribute that completely to the Sleep Number Bed!

We would love to upgrade our Sleep Number – it’s about 13 years old. It’s still perfectly good, but we’ve seen some of the new upgrades and would love to try them…but can’t justify getting rid of a perfectly good bed 7-12 years before it needs to be replaced! Ha! Frugality!

  • Hi Jillee,
My husband and I have visited the closest Sleep Number location in Columbia, S. C. in the past. We were excited to know that we could have the comfort we each would love. We had just purchased our mattresses for the home and didn’t need them but now we may have to give them another thought as one of ours is getting a little uncomfortable. Thanks for the giveaway we’d love to be entered!
I like you want to sleep on soft and hubby likes the more firm mattress so we’ve had to come to an understanding meet in the middle I guess as to what we’d each like to sleep on. With the Sleep Number that would change all of that.
Thanks for reminding us of this product and for the giveaway!

  • First, thank you for such a wonderful chance! My sleep number store is TUKWILA-SOUTHCENTER PKWY.
    Tukwila, WA.
I would like to win because I have a serious medical issue that causes me many nights of horrible pain over most of my body. The thing is that different levels of pain require different soft-to-hard surfaces which forces me to repeatedly pile pillows all over the bed and then get up and strip them off again a few hours later. As this requires me to use my power chair, it’s a serious undertaking! A sleep number would allow me to adjust the bed without pillows and without having to get up and down.

  • I would love to win a wonderful sleep number bed. My husband and I have two twin blow up mattresses that we’re using . Although, its comfortable, it’s also difficult sleeping on. Don’t have any major problems that keep me from getting a good nights except i’m using a c-pap machine and that has it’s challenges as well………….THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY……………………..The closest store to my location is Happy Valley, Oregon…………………

  • My nearest store is Eugene, OR.
I’d love a sleep number because I have chronic neck and hip pain from a car accident and wake up with numb arms and legs every morning. I know the right mattress would help a lot, and I’ve heard Sleep Number is the right mattress!

  • I have multiple back injuries and have to sleep on my sides. I toss all night and wake up feeling sore. The closest location is Sleep Number Lafayette.

  • I HAVE MS AND THIS BED WOULD HELP ME SO MUCH AS I CAN’T SLEEP VERY WELL WITH MY CONDITION AS MY BED IS SO SOFT AND DIPS IN THE MIDDLE SINCE IT IS THE BED I BOUGHT WHEN I GOT MARRIED 38 YEARS AGO AND BEFORE MY LEGS QUIT MOVING DUE TO MY CONDITION AND BETTER GETTING IN AND OUT OF MY WHEELCHAIR BETTER. SO I PRAY TO GOD I WIN THIS SO AT LEAST MY LIFE COULD BE A LITTLE BETTER THAN IT IS RIGHT NOW. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS

  • My closest Sleep Number Bed store would be Murray, Ut . I been married for 9 years we have a full size bed that I never noticed we might need a new one intill I just read your post the waking up , feeling restless and that yeah I always known it’s small but that’s all we could afford then. I would like something to relax on when my sciatica starts to act up. But wishing everyone the best of luck and thank you and S.N.B. For the chance to enter.

  • Somehow I was not able to complete the Store Locator information on the Sleep Number Sweepstakes but it says I have an entry for that …..how do I correct or complete that part of entry and make comment ??
I would LOVE to win a new mattress since we need one badly, but cannot afford one at this time….my husband & I both have serious health conditions that may be helped by having a proper mattress…
    Thank you

  • My closest store is at the Christiana Mall in Newark, Delaware. I actually want to win this mattress for my parents. They haven’t slept in the same bed for years because my dad hates the mattress so much! He says it is too soft for him, but my mom prefers a softer bed. I think a Sleep Number would be perfect for them!

  • Closest to me is St. George. We have the opposite problem. My husband want it soft, I want it firm. We currently have a memory foam mattress and my arms go numb when I sleep. Therefore, I’m not sleeping well at all and am a little cranky about it.

  • My closest store is in Bel Air MD. I started sleeping on the sofa when my dog could no longer make it up the stairs, that was over a year ago. She crossed the rainbow bridge last month. It’s time for a new mattress I would say it is at least 15 yrs old I have yet to sleep in it alone my husband passed away 12 yes ago, then the dog slept with me I think it is a time to start fresh with a new bed! Maybe my aches and pains will go away!

  • The mall at turtle crossing in Dublin, Ohio is our closest location. We are in desperate need of a new mattress!!! We literally are rolled into the center of ours when we get in! But it is nowhere in the budget in our near future! Would be an amazing blessing to win this!

  • I’ve found sleeping on my couch is better than my mattress :( so a new mattress is in order very very soon. Been looking at Sleep Number for a few weeks now!

  • Looks like Lynnwood WA is the closest location. Our mattress has been needing to be replaced for awhile now, but hoping to make it last a little longer before we move cross country!

  • The closest one I would visit is in Milwaukee! I’ve been wanting a new mattress for a few years now. We’re saving to buy a new one soon!

  • My local Sleep Number store is at Lindale Mall…only two miles away from my home!

We have had our current coiled mattress well over fourteen years now and have put off getting a new mattress because we are very strapped financially, (with three kids- no wonder!). My husband and I do not agree on what’s comfortable where mattresses are concerned- he likes a more solid surface or his back acts up and I like of a soft-medium mattress when I sleep. We’ve both been having sleeping issues since….well, I can’t remember when we didn’t have sleeping issues!, and on top of that, I have severe perennial allergies to dust, molds, etc., (of which I have not been able to find symptom relief- no matter what I try). I’ve heard such amazing reviews of the SleepNumber system and have thus far been only able to dream about it being the answer to our exhausted and achy prayers. A mattress like this would be a blessing, indeed!

Thank you so much for this article…so much of the points you highlighted makes perfect sense and has triggered “A-HA!” moments :D

  • Our closest one, is right around the corner in Turkey Creek. I have heard not but good things concerning Sleep Number mattresses. Nice giveaway!

  • South Hills Village in Pittsburgh, PA

I’d like to win because it takes me forever to fall asleep and I toss and turn all night. Not only do I have a rough time falling asleep but I wake up after only 3-4 hours of sleep. Every. Single. Night.

  • Sleep Number
    South Hills Village, Pgh. PA

My husband and I both have severe sleep apnea, my husband had a massive heart attack December 2016, his stress levels are very high, he gets approximately 2 hours sleep a night. He had a blockage of 99% LAD (widow maker). Very blessed to be alive. He continues to work for the insurance that we need.

I can’t wear a mask or oxygen, I go into sleep #2 but immediately go back to #1, I never reach REM. I have been sleeping in a recliner for 3 years because my neck is so bad. I am disabled was paralysed in 2001 due to a hematoma caused from a bleeding disorder (surgery made me walk again but have much damage to nerves and muscles). I also have fragmentation pressing against spinal column in cervical ,thoracic and lumbar areas. I have had chronic pain since age 18 (now 57). Am in chronic pain mgmt.

I have been thinking about a sleep number bed for quite a while.

  • My closest Sleep Number store is:

    Firewheel Town Center
    Near Dillard’s
    460 Coneflower Dr.Space M19Garland, TX 75040

    (972) 767-2301

I have a Sleep Number bed, but would like to put one in my guest bedroom. With lots of overnight family visitors, it would be an opportunity to prove to them how wonderful a night on a Sleep Number bed can be. It’s “one thing (!)” to lie on one in a store for a few minutes. It’s another to spend a whole restful night on one! The great thing is to be able to change the setting as need be. I have been retired for two years and have been having hip and leg pain. The thought occurred to me to by a newer mattress since I’ve had this one for awhile. Before spending the money, I changed sides, but adjusted firmness number to same as side I had previously slept on. No change. Then I decided I would play with the remote control to see if changing the firmness level would help. It’s been on 65 for years. It just didn’t occur to me that as I have aged, I might need a different level of support! Last night, I lowered the firmness level to 60. That small of a change made a great difference in my comfort level, and this morning I actually woke up feeling like a YOUNGER person! Bodies change! You can’t go wrong with a bed that can change with you!

  • Our closest store is the West Plano location in Plano, Tx. We are about to have baby number two and need all the help in the sleep department. If I can only sleep for a few hrs here and there, I want them to be the best few hrs!

  • My closest store is in Washington UT. My husband and I have different ideals when it comes to mattress firmness as well. He prefers soft and I would like it more firm. We both have back pain too, maybe a sleep number is the way to go!

This giveaway is a fantastic chance for the lucky winner to experience the Sleep Number bed.
I would like a Sleep Number bed so that I may be able to sleep comfortably through the night and wake up refreshed. I currently wake up a few times during the night and I rarely receive a minimum of 7 hours of sleep. I’m usually taking the blanket off and on with lots of tossing and turning most nights I usually only get 4 hours of sleep.

  • Hello, the nearest store to me is in Port Orange, Florida. I would love to win the Sleep Number mattress as our mattress is over 10 years old and as we age it is harder to get comfortable at night.

  • I would be heading to the Great Northern Mall till visit the store.
My mattress is only 3 years old but I need a right hip replaced and some nights I am moving constantly trying to not hurt. I do not sleep at night then end up sleeping all day. It would be nice to be able to change how hard or soft it is under my aching leg and hip.

  • The closest store for us is in Birmingham, AL at Riverchase Galleria. We’re overdue to replace our current Sleep Number mattress, which is 17 years old and was bought when they were called Select Comfort. It has been an amazing mattress, but it has definitely seen better days, so winning a new one would be a wonderful blessing.

  • The closest store to me would be at the Shoppes at Montage in Moosic, Pa. I am embarassed to admit how old my mattress is-but it is no wonder I wake up stiff and unrested each morning…thank you for this opportunity

  • It looks like the Orem, UT store is the closest to me.

I have a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep. Perhaps a new mattress would fix my problems. :-)

  • Coon Rapids, MN-Riverdale village

My biggest sleep issue is waking up with stiff muscles, specifically neck and shoulders. I somehow slept so horribly the night before mothers day that I couldn’t get out of bed without screaming due to an incredibly messed up neck. My chiropractor even said that my mattress may be a big part of the issue, so I have been looking to get a new one. I’m so scared to get another uncomfortable one again, the one we had felt great in the store, but has been horrible the entire time we have owned it.

  • My Sleep Number Store is : Sleep Number
    Wausau
Rib Mountain Road next to Texas Roadhouse
4720 Rib Mountain Drive Wausau, WI 54401
    (715) 241-0990

I have Fibromyalgia and Degenerative Disc Disease with a failed lower back surgery, my sleep is never restorative and I have problems with pain. I would love to win a Sleep Number bed because my bed has a sag in the center of it and I know my bed is causing more pain added to the pain I already have from my illnesses. Thank you SO much for this opportunity!!

  • St. George, UT
Our first mattress was my husband’s old mattress from before we were married. We kept that one for 4-5 years. Our current mattress is from my in-law’s old house that was a guest bed left by the previous owners. We’ve had it for maybe 8 years. It is a king so it has the hill in the middle from the box springs (from what I’m told). My husband can’t sleep more than 6-7 or so hours or his back hurts and he has to get out of bed. I wake up to change positions or adjust blankets in the night and feel tired all the time. We’ve talked a little about a new mattress recently and my mother-in-law said a Sleep Number is the way to go so I was beyond excited to see this giveaway! It would really help!

  • University parkway store in Orem is the recommended store for me. With 3 babies sleep is a prized possession. A new bed would only help enjoy the little sleep we do get.

  • Sandy, UT is my closest location. Our mattress is 13 years old and no longer is supportive. The problem is that my husband likes a firmer mattress, while I love sleeping on a puffy cloud…….finding a mattress that works for both of us has been incredibly difficult. The sleep number bed sounds like it would solve all of our problems! :)

  • Hillsboro, OR. Snoring, tossing and turning and just plain uncomfortable! We got a new mattress 2 years ago. After 6 months is was having issues and couldn’t get it replaced. Yikes! What a great give away.

  • IT IS MY 72nd BIRTHDAY TODAY. MY MATTRESS IS 25 YRS OLD AT LEAST. TIME TO GET A NEW ONE. THANKS FOR THE ARTICLE ON MATTRESS AND GIVE AWAY.

  • Arrowhead town center, Glendale AZ. I suffered a traumatic brain injury in 2001, from a motor vehicle accident. As a result I’ve had insomnia issues, and difficulty sleeping. I’ve tried several mattresses. I’ve even tried various sleeping routines, and even different sleep medications, nothing seems to work. I’d be interested to see if your “magical mattress” does the trick!!

    Best regards,

    Amy Bond

  • The Billings, Montana store is where we went. I snore terribly and struggle to get comfortable through the night. I have sciatica pain every morning. My husband struggles to fall asleep. He likes a harder mattress and I enjoy a bit softer. We can’t afford a Sleep Mumber bed, but would be in heaven if we could.

  • The Parks at Arlington in Arlington TX is my closest store. My 15 y.o. mattress is “indented” with body outlines! I don’t sleep through the night and wake up with aches and pains contributed to an older mattress. I’d LOVE a Sleep Number mattress!

  • The closest store to me is in Green Bay, Wisconsin, 92 miles away. Interesting fact: we have an 18-year old Sleep Number Bed–yes, it’s old enough to VOTE–and it’s still in good shape. One side has developed a very slow air leak, but after 18 years, I can live with that. It’s been an awesome bed!

  • The Pearlridge Store is the closest – we’ve looked at the Sleep Number before but another one – 6 years later it’s abt time to get a new one – I toss and turn alot – does it have an adjustable frame available – I have sleep apena and being able to sleep at 30% angle makes it alot better.

  • Arrowhead Town Center Mall. We need a new mattress because it has been long enough with the one we have. Plus snoring is a huge issue & we’re looking for a mattress to help us with that!

  • The closest store for us is Noblesville, IN. We got our mattress when we were married 13 years ago. I take forever to fall asleep and wake up several times through the night. I am also all over the bed. I usually get blamed for sleeping on his side. I usually am half the time. My husband seems to fall asleep fast, but tends to fall asleep easily throughout the day so I’m not sure if he is getting a good sleep.

  • The closest store to me is in Vestal, NY. My bed is 17 years old and my husband can’t sleep in it for more than a couple of hours. I’m desperate for a new bed!

  • Our closest store is in Owings Mills, MD.
Gosh, we’ve had our mattress since 1980. Having had two spinal surgeries and dealing with rods from C4 – T2 makes for a stressful night. We simply can not afford a new mattress.

  • San Tan Mall Gilbert, AZ is the closest Sleep Number Store. I would like a sleep number bed, but I would actually love for my parents to have one first. They are in their 60’s and neither of them sleep well…sleep apnea, snoring, insomnia…none of these are helped by their poor quality mattress.

  • The closest used to be in our local mall about 3 miles away, but on the locator it doesn’t show up, so the closest now is 46 miles away in Bloomington. Our mattress is old and worn out, we wake up stiff in the mornings from the springs

  • Freewheel town center is the closest to me. We need a new mattress because while I love our current mattress my husband can’t stand it and has a hard time sleeping on it.

  • My mattress is 9 years old. Hate to spend the $ to replace. May have to check out the ABQ UPTOWN store and see if it helps my back feel better!

  • Every morning when I wake up I have lower back pain. I also wake up several times a night, minimum of at least 3 times so I NEVER get 7 hours of sleep. In fact, I don’t get 5 hours of continual sleep and I’m tired all day long.

  • There is one 4 miles from me in Fredericksburg, VA. My current mattress isabout 14 years old and needs to RIP. I’m a recent cancer survivor and still experience many aches and pains. A new mattress would be pure heaven!

  • The closest store to me is in Green Bay Wisconsin, and I would love to try a sleep number bed! Its time for me to get a new mattress and Id love a good nights full sleep!

  • My husband has been bed-ridden with back pain and peripheral neuropathy. During this time, we learned he had kidney cancer which fortunately was early stage and was operable. Our sleep nights are stressful because he is in a lot of pain and I have trouble sleeping because my husband moves around so much. I think our mattress is on its last legs. We would love to win a new mattress. Can’t tell you how much I enjoy reading your blog everyday.

  • My closest store is at the Dayton Mall. Desperately need a new mattress but we each want different softness or firmness. This would perfect for us!

  • There’s a store 4 miles away from me, in Dublin, Ohio. I’d love to get a new mattress! My husband and I need all the rest we can, chasing around two toddlers all day.

  • We have 3 sleep number beds in our home currently. No need to buy any other kind. I wod love to have the queen size bed for my son who is returning from an over seas assignment with the United States Coast Guard. Our closest store is in Tuttle Mall in Columbus, Ohio.

  • There is a Sleep Number store 8 miles from me in Moore Plaza, Corpus Christi, TX. Would LOVE to win this as my husband is disabled, and I have a terrible aching back most days. Neither of us sleeps to well on the mattress we have now. Thanks for running this contest. :)

  • There is a store in Springfield, Mo. My husband and I both have back issues and I never even thought that they could be related to our bed! I’d love to win to find out if it is the bed.

  • There are 2 stores within a 30 minute drive of my house! I would love to win a Sleep Number bed as my dear husband wakes up with a backache every morning… Our pillow top mattress is relatively new so now we are trying mattress toppers to see if those would help. Maybe a Sleep Number bed would solve his problems and he would sleep better. If he sleeps better, so do I! 

  • There is a location near us at Houston – Champions. We have been married for almost 20 years. My husband snores almost every night and I know that he is uncomfortable. A sleep number bed might alleviate some of our issues with his snoring and my difficultly of falling asleep every night. We would love the opportunity to win a Sleep Number bed. Thank you for such a wonderful blog. I wake up in the morning and enjoy reading your email with the latest tips.

  • We have had a sleep Number mattress for 20 some years. Love it, it is hard to sleep away from home! My nearest store is in Medford, Or. Would love one for the quest room (although maybe quests would stay to long)

  • We absolutely love our Sleep Number mattress. We bought it in 2004, and it’s showing a bit of wear, but it works just as well as it did when we got it. I’d love a new one with the new features! We’re like Jillee and her husband — he likes it firm and I have to have soft. Before this mattress, one of us always had a hard time sleeping. After traveling, we can’t wait to get back home to our firmness-customized mattress.

  • Our sleep number store is in Lafayette. Would love this mattress so my husband and I can get better sleep. I toss and turn constantly, which keeps him up.

  • The nearest store to me is Crabtree in Raleigh. About 3 miles away. We have a 10- year old Sleep Number bed that we love. But I’d love to give one to my daughter!

  • Roseville Store. A new Sleep Number bed would benefit us as our old bed is almost 12 years old…..or does an old sleep number bed ever wear out?

  • Our closest store is Union Gap, WA. Our mattes is 8.5 years old and isn’t high quality. After having a couple of kids my back needs a more supportive matress. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • My closest Sleep Number store is about an hour away, in Birmingham AL. I’d love to have a mattress that helps me keep my spine aligned. I’d love to win this contest so my daughters who share a queen size bed can have a wonderful mattress for their growing bodies to sleep on.

  • PLEASE see a doctor about your husband’s snoring. It can be a symptom of sleep apnea, which can lead to a stroke. My aunt was a snorer, and she ended up having a stroke that forced her to retire early.

There are treatments for sleep apnea, that can help your husband before it’s too late.

    Best wishes to you both!

  • I have an older model of the sleep number bed & have found it to trap heat. I’d love to see the P6 or I8 models & how they compare to my older model.

  • Washington, UT. We got a new mattress just a few months ago and I wake up with lower back pain almost every morning. Pretty disappointing.

  • My mattress is new but I rarely sleep well and sure would love to win this mattress. I find the older I get, the more joint stiffness I have in the mornings and wonder if a mattress like the Sleep Number would help?

  • the closest to me is in WOODMERE OH. not too far (: I always roll back and forth on my mattress because it is hard for me to get comfortable. I would really love a new mattress to see if i can get a better sleep. the p5 Sleep Number mattress looks so comfy!!

  • Gosh – I learned so much from this blog post….. Our closest store is located in White Marsh Mall, White Marsh, MD…… Embarassed to say that our mattress is 25 years old….. Have always been curious about the sleep number beds – reading this blog is just the catalyst to get me going…

  • Just entered the contest to win a Sllep Number queen bed from the store in Beldon Village, N Canton OH. I bought my current mattress in 1999. I can’t afford a new one as I am disabled and on a very small monthly SS payment. I surely would love to win.

  • We bought our mattress shortly after we got married, 17 years ago. I guess it really is time to replace it! (My husband didn’t believe me)

  • My closest store is Casa Grande, Az. My husband has back issues having had surgery #5 in September.
It would be great if we could win and try one of the Sleep Number mattresses.

    Thank you!

  • Murray, UT. I’ve had back problems since I was 14 and always have such a hard time falling asleep. (Being 30 weeks pregnant with twins doesn’t help either!) Also, my husband and I can never agree on a mattress. We currently have a firm mattress he chose, but it’s too soft for him and too hard for me. A sleep number bed would be a dream!!!

  • My closest store is Grand Junction Colorado. I need a new mattress because I wake up every morning with my back hurting. My mattress also has a dip in the middle so we both end up in the center of the bed!

  • A Sleep Number store recently opened in Victoria, TX. I went in the first week it was open but the prices were a little too high for me to be able to afford. I would LOVE a P6 because of the cooling factor. Pick me!!!

  • The Avenues in Viera Florida is the the closest location of a Sleep Number Store for me. I have hip, back and knee pain on a constant basis and a Sleep Number bed would help me tremendously!!! My sister has them in every bedroom in her house and even bought one for her married daughter as a wedding gift!

  • Hi again, I would like to know is this type would be good for severe DDD, spinal stenosis, with radiculopathy. My pain is constant, radiating from right butt down thru calf and foot, am 61 and haven’t worked for over 4 years, unable to walk without devices anymore. Would be blessed in every way to have one of these. My mattress is hard as arock.

  • Sleep number Anchorage is my closest store. I need a good nights sleep with having back problems. It sure would be an awesome mattress to win!!

  • Hamilton Place, in Chattanooga, TN, is my closest store! I’ve always slept very restlessly, so always wake up tired. I never feel like I’ve gotten a good night’s sleep. So I would LOVE to win a great mattress! That might be the answer to a good night’s sleep, which would be awesome!

  • There is a Sleep Number store in West Town Mall in Madison, Wisconsin. I plan to check out there store soon. I would love a Sleep Number mattress to help with back pain that back surgery did not resolve so I can get a good night’s sleep, so I hope I win!

  • DRATS!! I’m not on FACEBOOK, But I’m hoping I’m NOT eliminated from the drawing! I’m going to be crossing my fingers , hoping you’ll notice this note Jillee, and add me to the “hat”! Heaven knows this would be a fantastic WIN!!

Thanks for all you do to assure your blog remains my FAVORITE!! I love ❤️ reading you, every single day!!

  • I live close to Morgantown WV. They have just put a sleep number store in town. I have problems waking up in pain sometimes with my back.

  • I live in the Denver Metro area. The closest stores to me are Denver West and Cherry Creek. I have looked at a Sleep Number bed for a while because my boyfriend has some back issues.

  • Snoring is hard on both partners. Does your husband have sleep apnea? He should ask his doctor about a sleep study as this is hard on the heart. I couldn’t hack the CPAP machine and was finally fitted with an oral appliance by a dentist who deals only with sleep apnea. It looks funny, but it keeps me from grinding my teeth and pushes my lower jaw forward a bit so that my throat is open and I no longer snore. A great plush memory foam mattress eases my fibromyalgia and arthritis so that I can sleep well without investing in a Sleep Number number.

  • Closest store for Sleep Number beds is NEW HARTFORD NY. I need a new bed because my husband and I both have sleep issues and this sounds like it could be the beneficial physical & mental answer for both of us!!!

  • Ohhhhhhh it would be a dream to win a Sleep Number mattress. My mattress is currently ten years old and I have great difficulty sleeping. I can’t tell you how many mornings I have went to work with little or no sleep–not good. I never knew about the allergy to dust mites. I have severe allergies and never thought it would have anything to do with the mattress. Now, hearing this, I realize that I wake up and my sinuses are the worst in the mornings. I just recently became unemployed so I cannot afford to purchase a Sleep Number bed. The closes Sleep Number Bed to me is in Albany, N.Y., which is a two and one half our ride from where I live. When I go to Albany in September, I will be stooping at the Crossgate Mall to check them out. Hopefully, I will be employed by then. I would just love to get a good night’s sleep!

  • The closest Sleep Number Mattress Store to me is at the Mall in St. Matthews. I could sure use this mattress. It would be a God send to me because I have a problem falling asleep at night and staying asleep.

  • I’m in Philadelphia so the 2 closest store would be Cherry Hill Mall (Cherry Hill, NJ) or Oxford Valley Mall (Langhorne, PA). Too bad there aren’t closer locations but luckily, they aren’t hours away!

    • Some of the issues I have stemmed from my surgeries. When I was 12 (now 29) I had a full spinal fusion (my whole back is fused with rods, hooks, screws and cadaver bone). It was a brutal surgery. I had no pain before and now I have excruciating pain daily. I’ve also had 4 other surgeries since then and will need several more. A Sleep Number bed would be perfect for me since my sleep patterns and pain levels change daily.

  • My closest store is in Santa Fe, NM. Like Jillee, I prefer a soft bed and my husband needs a hard bed due to back issues. I would love to win this bed to make both of us better sleepers!

  • My closest store is at the San Tan Village Mall, Gilbert Arizona (AKA: the surface of the sun).

My husband has fibromyalgia and has had 4 back surgeries.
For the last 4-5 years, I get about 5 nonconsecutive hours of sleep at night and it is exhausting…never considered it could be my mattress. Desperate to rest well!

Thank you for having this drawing!!

  • My store is Plano, TX. Would LOVE to win this mattress! My husband is a terrible sleeper, and I think he’d totally benefit from this mattress. We definitely like different firmness levels too, so I can’t think of a better solution. Thanks for the opportunity.

  • The Asheville Mall is the closest location to me. I would love to have a new sleep number bed. I have sleep apnea, degenerative disc disease and am currently healing from compression fractures in 17 vertebrae. Being able to adjust the firmness would allow me to be more comfortable.

  • The nearest store to my location is Layton Hills Mall. I would love to have a new mattress that would fit both me and my husband’s preferences! He needs a softer bed and I need a slightly firmer mattress. I heard these were perfect for couples like us!

  • Witchata Falls, TX, but we’d probably go to an OKC store, since they’d have to ship it anyway!
Our Sleep Number is about 15 years old, and foster puppy chewed the cable from the remote on one side. It’d sure be nice to have it adjustable again!!

  • My closest store is in St. Joseph, Missouri. I’ve been needing a new mattress for sooo long, but as a single mom, I never seem to spend money on myself. I’m starting to realize that I need better sleep!

Thank you for the chance to win!

  • Athens, Ga
Have started tossing and turning so from the info here, that is a sign we need a new mattress. Interesting the 100 night trial. I have been hesitant to try these beds because I know they are a big investment and if I did not like it I would be stuck!

  • The Mall at Robinson (Pittsburgh, PA) is the closest store to me! I knew this without even checking the locator because I stop in the store often. My mattress is older than two of my children and is horrible. It has been flipped beyond flippability and neither my husband or I can get a good night sleep. We toss and turn but mostly hang on the edge since that’s the only area left that still has some stability.

  • We have a Niken mattress with small magnets in it and it is firm foam. I think it is a Japanese product.
We’ve had it for about 12 years now and it still feels the same as when we first got it. The magnets are supposed to help with your energy. We also have a comforter with the magnets.
I don’t think you can buy them in stores. We got ours from a guy I worked with.

  • My closest sleep number store is in North Attleboro, MA. I bought a Posturepedic mattress a couple of years ago and already it has lost its support.

  • Genesee Valley in Flint, MI.

We are due for a new mattress; something that can offer each of us an individual experience would be wonderful.

  • I bought a sleep number bed 13 years ago and its the worst mattress J have ever owned because if your partner is heavier tjan you the bed becomes lop sided over time …. just not worth the money I am very dissatisfied with it .

  • My closest store is on Monroe St. in Toledo, Oh. My husband has joint issues and he tosses and turns all night trying to get comfortable. A new Sleep Number bed could be just the thing to help alleviate his aches and pains.

  • Our Sleep Number store is just 3 miles away at the Mall of Georgia. My husband and I have been married for 19 years and that’s how old our mattress is. Would love to try a sleep number!

  • My nearest store is on Beach Blvd in Huntington Beach. I’ve been there but just cannot afford the pricing right now. My current mattress is about 20 years old and so heavy I cannot lift it to turn over. I had this mattress when I was married so it still has ex husband cooties in it :( I really need a new mattress !!

    • Watch for their Thanksgiving sale, all their mattresses go half price. Making them much more affordable. Had our for 5 years and never want to go back to a regular mattress.

  • Denton, Texas is my nearest store. Some nights it takes me a little longer to fall asleep and I wake up tossing and turning. I would love to win a sleep number, thanks for the chance!!

  • Woodland Mall, Kentwood MI. I’m using a foam topper, but it’s so broken down, it doesn’t help. have hip and neck issues due to a sagging bed!

  • My nearest Sleep Number store is in my town, Sleep Number Houma, LA. We’ve had a sleep number for quite some years now and would love to upgrade to a newer one.

  • I’d love to have a sleep number with icool mattress I believe it is,but I’d have to set up a fundraiser just to save for a sleep number, lol!! I’ve always struggled with finding a really good mattress. We currently have a memory foam that the frame serves as the box springs and it has been a decent mattress thus far.

  • Thank heaven there is a Sleep Number store not too far from us. They very well might be our saviours.

We need a new mattress SO BADLY. The last one we got was a Stearns and Foster that wasn’t flippable, and it was absolutely wretched within 1 month of our owning it, but we couldn’t return it because the floating foam on top made the indentations appear too shallow for them uphold their warranty. We have suffered with it for 10 years now because it was expensive, and we had counted on it lasting that long. I will NEVER do business with Stearns and Foster again. An awful product, and hateful, deplorable customer service.

But now, from my understanding, the Sleep Number bed avoids all of those problems! We need to try those out pronto. Very excited!

  • 35 miles is our closest Sleep Number Store, but being out in the country, we are used to driving to do major shopping. I have been waking up with a stiff back and hip pain – I KNOW it’s time we replaced our mattress! Hubby and I have been happily married for 41 years, but it seems we disagree more and more now on things. Having a Sleep Number bed would solve that problem!

  • I never realized we had a Sleep Number store so close to our house in Greenville, SC! We’ll have to check it out for sure. I like a firmer mattress and my husband prefers a softer mattress – and we’re overdue for a new one.

  • My husband and I bought a very expensive mattress 10 years ago but turned out to be a true nightmare. My 57 yr old,6ft, 385lb husband rolls into the floor most every night off the broken edge. Our nearest sleep number store is in the Bridgewater Commons mall in Bridgewater, NJ.

  • Closest store is only 4 miles away in Sandy , Utah. Our mattress is worn and we are well aware of every dip and bump! No matter how often we flip and turn it we get no relief – it has issues at every angle.

  • Hi! Thanks for this opportunity! The nearest Sleep Number Store is Superstition Springs Center, 5 miles from my home. I think I am in desparate need of a new bed. I have a 10yr old Temperpedic and I don’t think we bought the right firmness from the start. Every day I wake up I feel like I have been run over by a car. You have a super cute bed by the way Jillee! Thanks again!

  • Because of my back pain and cold feet. Each night it takes very long time to get warm feet and as sleep number has feet warming feature too ..that will be amazing

  • I bought a new mattress last summer and wish I would be bought a sleep number. Wish I knew I had a store 100 miles away. Would have been worth the trip. I really am not impressed with what I bought. Thanks for the opportunity to win one.

  • My closest store is Greenfield, Wisconsin. My husband and I disagree about the perfect feel for a mattress. I would love for each of us to be able to pick our own sleep number so we can each have the perfect mattress.

  • The closest store is at Rivertown Mall, only a couple miles from my house! My husband and I definitely differ on our mattress preferences….more so since he has started experiencing muscle cramping due to a degenerative disease. Every time we’ve discussed mattresses in the past, Sleep Number has been the first thing he’s brought up. He’s very fascinated with this type of mattress and winning one would be a dream come true for him! Plus, we’d probably get better sleep and we’d both have better dreams! Ha! Thanks for the chance, Jillee!

  • My closest store is in Sterling Heights MI. Unfortunately a good nights sleep has eluded my husband and I for many years. He had a spinal fusion from a a car acccident in his 20s. I now have arthritis and degeneration in my back. Add in his snoring and my restless legs and we both struggle to get comfortable at night leading to little sleep and more pain the next day. Many years ago we finally bit the bullet and bought a new mattress. We should have gone with a sleep number but we were sold on a different brand (a decision we have regretted). Years later and good sleep is still just “a dream”. A new sleep number would be an amazing gift!

  • One of the closest for me is St. Cloud MN! I’m pretty sure it’s time to replace you’re mattress when both you and your husband end up sinking into the middle of your bed before morning!

  • North Attleboro, MA is the closest store to me. As a matter of fact, it’s where I bought my 1st Sleep Number mattress about 10 years ago. I would love a new one for my son. He says his back always hurts and I think he would benefit from a Sleep Number mattress.

  • My nearest Sleep Number store is 17 miles away on hwy 280 in Birmingham, Al. My husband had back surgery, and still suffers pain in his back. He requires a really firm mattress, so firm that it causes me to sleep on the sofa. What helps his back actually hurts mine. Have always thought one of these beds would be great but it’s out of our price range so why not give this a shot? Thanks!

  • Sounds heavenly! Closest store here is about 30 miles, in Grand Jct, CO.
I love your comforter/bedspread…could you tell me where you got it? Thanks for the info on the mattress!

  • I didn’t realize our closest store was only 38 miles away, we definitely have been waking up hurting, stiffnecked, and uncomfortable and restless sleep for the last several months. This is definitely something that we could use, with 10 kiddos we need a good rest!

  • My closest Sleep Number store is 211 miles away and located in Cheyenne, WY. While I generally sleep pretty well on my current mattress, my husband has a hard time falling asleep. And, it has been longer than the recommended time frame since our mattress has been replaced. This would be a fantastic gift for our upcoming 13th wedding anniversary!

  • Having issues with lower back pain and general soreness. There’s a dip in my current mattress.

  • my husband is a disabled veteran and we often can’t sleep in same bed because of his pain level. This bed would be a blessing if it helped him sleep and wake up with limited pain.Closest store about 10miles away

  • My nearest store is in St. Peters, MO. My husband and I desire different things from our mattress. He prefers firm, I prefer softer. A sleep number mattress would be just the solution we need!

  • Port Orange, Fl is my closest store. My husband likes a more firm mattress while I like cushy. when purchasing a mattress we both have to compromise to meet both our needs, which is a firm with a pillow top. In the long term with this type of mattress we both continue to not have a restful sleep. This mattress could be the answer to a restful night sleep. :) Thanks for the chance to win.

  • This would sure be helpful to us! My MS means muscle spasticity at night and it’s a problem. Also, I love a firm mattress, hubby not so much. What an incredible win this would be, as we aren’t in a financialong position to replace our mattress right now!

  • I am pleasantly surprised to know that my closest Sleep Number store is in Lawrenceville, GA. Very convenient! I have to sleep on my back due to problems with my neck. This creates lower back problems. Maybe this mattress would help me wake up with no pain.

  • My mattress is over 16 yrs old and I didn’t realize how bad it was until I went on vacation recently. That mattress at the resort was incredibly fantastic. I had to remind myself to get up and be a tourist! My nearest store is in Roseville, Ca

  • We finally took the plunge and got a Sleep Number about 6 months ago. We got the i-10 Adjustable base, split King. It’s simply fantastic! I am a three time cancer survivor (I’m 43!) and chemo did a number on my esophogus and I have horrible reflux. My maintenance treatment does the same thing with heartburn and reflux. It’s so nice to be able to sit up and sleep (while my hubby sleeps flat) when I’m having a bad night. It’s also so great to sit up to watch TV when I want to (bye bye 5 pillows to prop up!) My sleep number is 25 (I love to sink into it and feel so enveloped!). My hubby is a 70!! Our sleep has greatly improved! I look forward to going to bed at night now!

  • Nearest store is 66 miles from home. We live in the “sticks!” I often have trouble falling asleep, and snorong is sometimes an issue, too.

  • Nearest store is Sleep Number

My husband and I currently sleep on 12 year old mattress so are due for a new one…. love the idea of 25yr warranty as shopping for mattresses is the most stressful thing I can even think of…. spending so much money on myself for no guarantee of happy comfort ! The main reason I would love a new mattress is for my husband who is a public servant spending often 60 plus hours working and struggles with back stress issues- good rest for him is my praye!

  • The closest Sleep Number store to me is 2 miles away. I like a firmer mattress than my hubby and I think a sleep number bed would contribute to a good night’s sleep for both of us. Thank you!

  • I have 2 local stores, Spokane and Spokane Valley, Wa. I would like to win a Sleep Number mattress because at 41, I have never owned quality mattresses. I don’t know what it’s like to sleep thru the night. I wake up in pain. :(

  • My closest Sleep Number store is Sleep Number Lexington (KY). There are posts of people who are much more deserving than I am for a new mattress. I lay awake almost every night more than an hour waiting to fall asleep while my husband snores away within just a few minutes. I toss and turn all night waking up 3-4 times a night. My husband wakes up every morning so stiff he can hardly get out of bed. I have wondered many times if we need a new mattress but they are so expensive. The mattress we have has a 25 year warranty on it but it obviously does not last that long as it sags now (but only on my side??) and it was several thousand dollars when my father bought it new. I would love to have a Sleep Number mattress.

  • My closest Sleep Number store is in Summerlin, just 15 miles away. I have to check it out for sure. My sister has one of their mattresses and she also loves it! I am desperate for a new mattress after 12 years and terrible sleep. I woke up this morning to find our downstairs air conditioning condenser has died (and that is where my kids sleep). That isn’t great news with triple digits all summer long. A new bed is still a dream with that huge purchase to make. Winning one would be lovely, so lovely!!

  • Our store is 2 miles away. Our mattress is at least 10 years old. I have chronic Lyme disease and fibromyalgia. I often have muscle and joint pain, and ache all over when I have a flare. My husband and I both, unfortunately, snore. I would love to have a restful sleep at night to meet the challenges of living with a chronic illness.

  • The Avenue Viera in Florida is my closest store. My husband is a ‘champion snorer’ and 5 out of 7 nights I’m awakened around 3:00am by his . It would be pure heaven to finally be able to sleep thru the night!

  • Thank you – looking for a new one and there is a store in Lancaster, PA – where we are moving soon. Holding off on buying a new mattress until this move, so this would be GREAT! Love all your posts, and in spite of purging 40 years of stuff, packing, selling our house, and moving….I was inspired by you and started a blog ! Life is good. Thanks for the chance to win !

  • Closest store is Layton Hills Mall. My back hurts all the time and it would be so nice to start my day feeling refreshed instead of instantly achy!

  • Closest store is Salina ,KS. Might have to check it out next week. My parents had a sleep number and loved it. They still have it! Going on 18 years.

  • You mentioned your husband is a “world class snorer”. Has he been checked for sleep apnea? It’s a simple overnight test, in a sleep lab, hotel room, or your own bedroom, and a cpap can make a world of difference. For him and for you.

  • Looks like we have two within 9 miles from us. Not bad! We’ve been debating on a new mattress for a while, but convinced ourselves that we’ll wait until after our move. Honestly, we’re just struggling with the big investment before paying off our debt. We could use something that caters to the both of us, though. We’re both not sleeping that well, and perhaps it IS our mattress. My needs change day to day, as someone with chronic health and pain issues. Sometimes sleep is downright elusive for me due to pain, and it’s exactly what I need most! My husband like a softer bed than I do, and so we’re left compromising. His back, knee, and shoulder pain from a car accident when he was younger (was hit by a car at 18) are just getting worse with age and poor sleep. Being given the chance to get a new mattress and see if it really does work for us would be amazing!! Seems silly to say for such a practical thing, but maybe life-changing? lol

  • Oh my gosh!! We are sooo ready for a new mattress (and new bedroom suite)!!! I love antiques, but not where mattresses are concerned. We have a queen-sized bed, so this would be perfect!! Would love to win!

  • My nearest store is either @ Wolfchase Galleria in Memphis/Bartlett or Germantown. I have always been interested in the Sleep Number series since my husband and I have different preferences. Thank you for the opportunity.

  • Neither my husband or I sleep well. I’m not sure why, but since our mattress is very old I bet that’s one reason! We would love to try this. Setting our own sides would sure be a great benefit!

  • The store closest to me is at Southlands Mall in Aurora, CO. I would love to win this because I failed each of the tests about my mattress age and sleep! ☺️ My mattress is over 20 years old, but as a single mom of two teenage daughters, the money for something like that is just never there. My girls’ needs always trump my own (as it should be), and rent and bills take everything else. A result of the poor mattress I have and stress is that I sleep VERY poorly. It takes me about an hour to fall asleep and then I’m up off and on all night long. This new mattress would be a lifesaver! Thanks for the chance at winning one!

  • My current mattress is 12 years old, and until I read this post my Jillee, I hadn’t thought about the problems an old mattress might be causing me. It’s become commonplace to wake up with headaches and neck pain, and my left hip has been a constant ache for years. A sleep number mattress just might be the answer; my nearest store would be Bismarck, ND.

  • My nearest store is Orem, UT. With five young kids in the house, we definitely could use a good night’s sleep to give us a jumpstart to our busy days! My back often hurts when I get up in the morning, and I’m wondering now if a new mattress is in order. Thanks, OGTBJ for the opportunity to win. Fingers crossed!

  • Our nearest store is in Ann Arbor, 11 miles away. I have rheumatoid arthritis and related auto-immune issues as well as serious issues with my spine and have had chronic pain for years. We desperately need a new mattress but cost is a real issue. We sleep on an older Sleep Number bed at the cottage we borrow every year and it is wonderful and I look forward to sleeping on it every year. It would be a real blessing to win this mattress! Perhaps I would no longer wake up with my arms numb every morning.

  • Closet store is only nine miles away ! Sleeping through the night evades me. Toss and turn all night. Hip, back and leg pain. Could it possibly be my mattress or lack there of ? Fingers crossed for this prize. Thanks for the opportunity. :)

  • My closest store is in the Asheville Mall in Asheville, NC. I would love to try a sleep number bed because my husband and I have different requirements. He likes a firmer mattress than I do.

  • My husband and I are in our sixties and know it is time for a new mattress. Takes me a long time to fall asleep and I don’t sleep soundly. We both have back issues that we think stem from the mattress. Our store is Allen Park, Michigan. We would LOVE to win a Sleep Number mattress!

  • We shoulda bought the Sleep Number mattress when we were looking!! Now with our tempur pedic, I no longer even sleep with my husband because I toss and turn on it and am all around uncomfortable. We compromised after trying some out in the store, and the mattress we picked is just-right firm for him but too hard for me. I’m sleeping in the spare room now on a futon mattress that is cushier, that I snuggle into and feel good in. I guess we wait out the next few years of mattress viability and then head back to the Fox Run Mall in Newington, New Hampshire to the Sleep Number Store!

  • We have a sleep number bed and love it. It is 10 years old and with all the new technology in the newer ones. We would love to win a new one and move ours to the guest room.

  • I have a Sleep Number now maybe 15 yrs old. Love it and would love a shiny new one! Never slept this good and I am an oldie. Too bad it took so long for me to discover it..

  • Closest store to me is Tampa Florida mall..
I would love to be able to wake up with no back and neck pain..I have an old mattress very old it is starting to sag in the middle it’s time for a new one..Would love to try out this sleep number bed…

  • Sleep Number Concord Corner of Concord Mills Blvd. and Derita Rd., in front of Lowe’s 8694 Concord Mills BlvdSuite 40Concord, NC 28027. Would love to win this for our family! Thank you!

  • St Joseph, MO – I suffer from a lot of neck and hip pain and hubby is a major snorer. Rarely do either of us wake up feeling well rested. A few years ago, we spent the night at a hotel that had a sleep number and it was incredible! We came home and looked into purchasing one, but with 7 kiddos and a single income that is just not in the realm of possibilities for a long, long time.

  • Davenport, IA – I am heavier than my husband, so we need different support levels in our mattress due to weight differences. Would love to try a SleepNumber!

  • Closest store to me is Woodmere OH. I’d love to win this mattress — I have a terrible time falling asleep at night. Thank you for the opportunity!

  • The price of mattresses have gotten ridiculously expensive in the last 15 years to the point that most people can’t afford one AT ALL, let alone think about replacing it every 8 years. Which, if you are ‘of a certain age’ you know is a SCAM by the mattress manufacturers to sell more mattresses. As a result, there are now several online mattress retailers who have cut out the middle man, selling at much more affordable prices and listing the price it costs to actually make a mattress-which is quite shocking.

  • My husband and I have slept in separate beds for at least 10 years. He’s a light sleeper (weather reports during the night) and I I am a sound sleeper once I get to sleep. I have tenitis ( Constant ringing in my ears ) And reflux issues, so it would be nice to be able to raise the bed . My husband, bless his heart, snores and has some sleep apnea. My closest sleep number bed store is about 30 miles away Green Bay, Appleton. I would love to be able to try one ! But we are both retired and the cost may be prohibitive .

  • Closest store to me would be THE GREENE 16 mi.
Beaver Creek, OH I have problems with my back hurting when I wake up. My husband snores like a freight train and has problems with not feeling rested and back pain. We would love to win this mattress and really appreciate the chance! I think we too are mostly getting old and need more help getting rest. We just can’t sleep anywhere any more. Oh the joys of getting older! Dreaming of sleeping on our new sleep number bed! zzzzzzzzzz

  • I have Lupus and in chronic pain. My other half suffers with degenerative disc disease and arthritis. The sleep number would be wonderful for us. When we went into a Sleep Number store they would not let us try it out. How do you know if you would like one or not if you can’t try before you buy? It is a huge investment and we are on limited income also raising a grandchild and still putting one through college. It would be glorious to win this! To sleep better…. Ahhhhhhhh!

  • Our nearest store is 31 miles from us in South Burlington, VT. I have been in love with Sleep Number® i8 mattress since I saw the first commercials. The temperature balancing innovation is so very inviting. It would be a dream come true to win one. Thank you for this generous opportunity!!!

  • Our friends and family have invested in Sleep Number beds and have repurchased through the years. My sister loves hers with the movable head and foot.
It would be great but a bit of an extragavance.

  • My closest store is 38 miles away at Crossgates Mall. My husband and I wake up with pain almost every night. I would love to win this bed as my husband and I have had our bed for almost 10 years and it’s time to replace it. We’ve been married for 10 years so it’s time.

  • My closest sleep number store is Reading, PA- shoppes at wyomissing. I was just telling my husband we should consider a new mattress bc I’ve been having trouble staying asleep and waking up with neck and back pain.

  • My closest store is at Citadel Crossing. I’d love to win this mattress because ours is getting ready too be replaced, and both my husband and I aren’t sleeping as well.

  • My closest store is Summerlin (Las Vegas) NV. My husband and I have had every bit of furniture donated or bought at a low low cost. I would love to win this mattress because our current one is the same bed his parents had for 18 years in their 36 years of marriage. Add our two years having it that’s 20 years. Long overdue change. That’s why I enjoy this blog. I like to fix things and make them new but I can’t do that with a mattress. I could really use the sleep.
