The “afternoon sleepies” have been hitting me hard lately! After a tasty lunch, my motivation is zapped and all I can think about is taking a nap! I usually reach for a Diet Coke (I know – terrible habit!), but had to start trying some healthier solutions.
If your afternoon sleepiness is accompanied by muscle cramps, it may be due to a vitamin deficiency. Look for foods rich in iron and magnesium, and consider starting your day with a multivitamin.

Avoid the caffeine quick fix – coffee and soda will leave you dehydrated and feeling even sleepier later in the day. Plus, if you drink coffee in the afternoon, it could make it harder to fall asleep – and that’s the last thing you want!
