The more I use my Instant Pot, the more I realize just how versatile this kitchen appliance really is! The Instant Pot can cook a mind-blowing variety of foods, often in less time compared to standard cooking methods. And once you get familiar with how it works, it’s so easy to use! Recently I’ve been seeing more and more Instant Pot “accessories” online, and I’ve actually purchased quite a few of them. These handy accessories can make your Instant Pot even more useful than it already is, if you can believe it! So today I thought I’d share a few of my personal favorite Instant Pot accessories, as well as a few that I have on my “wish list.” :-) These genius accessories are sure to make your favorite kitchen appliance even more indispensable!
10 Must-Have Instant Pot Accessories
1. Glass Lid
This glass lid is perfect for times when you’re using the non-pressurized settings on your Instant Pot. You just set it right on top of the inner pot! When using the “Sauté” function, it will keep your food from splattering all over the place. And the glass lid is a must-have if you’re using the “Slow Cooker” function, because it will trap the moisture in the pot and help keep your food from drying out.
These nifty stacking pans are perfect for reheating leftovers in your Instant Pot. You can put your meat or main dish in one pan and your sides in the other, then you just lock it up, place it in your Instant Pot, and cook on high pressure for 5 minutes. It’s the best way to reheat leftovers, in my opinion!
This steamer basket is great for steaming veggies in your Instant Pot. The basket comes with a handy little hook that you can use to lift the basket from the pot after cooking. It also came with an extra sealing ring for the lid of the Instant Pot, which are always helpful to have on hand! (See below for more details on sealing rings.)
Keep a set of silicone cupcake liners on hand to use in your Instant Pot. You can use them to cook eggs, mini cheesecakes, and more! To make “poached” eggs, crack an egg into each cup and place them on the metal trivet inside the pot. Add 1 cup of water to the bottom of the pot, cook on low pressure for 3 minutes, then do a natural pressure release. These eggs are perfect for eggs benedict!
This non-stick inner pot is essentially the same inner pot that comes with your Instant Pot. It’s helpful to have a second one though, because then you can prepare a second food item while the first one cooks. (For example, you can get your meat seasoned and sauced while your rice or pasta is cooking.) Then when the first item is done, you can just swap the pots out and start it up again!
This little 6” cake pan fits perfectly inside an Instant Pot. You can use it to make perfect cheesecakes in no time! The outer ring is silicone and the base is glass, which makes this accessory totally durable and easy to clean.
If you like hard- or soft-boiled eggs, you’ll definitely want to get an egg steamer rack. The rack holds the eggs securely so you don’t have to worry about them rolling out and breaking.
8. Sealing Ring
I recently learned that the sealing ring on the lid of your Instant Pot can actually pick up flavors from the food you make over time. If your sealing ring is picking up savory flavors, those flavors could actually get infused into any sweet stuff you might want to make in your Instant Pot. They’re pretty inexpensive, so having a couple of rings on hand an easy “insurance policy” against accidentally transferring flavors.
9. Silicone Lid
A simple silicone lid is one of the most useful accessories you can get for your Instant Pot. It allows you to store your Instant Pot leftovers right in the inner pot. Just pop the lid on and put the pot in your fridge!
10. Gripper Clips
These handy little clips are designed to make it easy to lift things out of your Instant Pot when they’re done cooking. The handles are coated with silicone so you can comfortably lift hot items out of the pot without burning yourself.
