I recently had a friend move into a new house and wanted to take them something to help celebrate the happy occasion. A bouquet of flowers is always a nice gesture, but not terribly practical.
I decided to take the bouquet idea and give it a more useful spin….a “kitchen decor” bouquet that’s ridiculously easy to assemble, won’t need a drop of water, and will never wilt!

DIY Kitchen Decor Bouquet
- Large vase
- 4 napkins
- 4 placemats – must be big enough to wrap around the vase
- Thick ribbon
- Thin ribbon
- Kitchen utensils
Pick up one of the napkins at the center point.
Flip the napkin over and scrunch it together a bit in the middle.
Tie a small piece of ribbon around the napkin to hold the shape. Repeat with the other three napkins.
Place three of the placemats in the bottom of the vase.
Arrange the kitchen utensils in the vase.
Add the napkins to the vase.
Wrap the remaining placemat around the vase and secure in the back with a couple of pieces of tape. Use the larger ribbon to tie a bow around the vase.
And there you go! A cute and practical house warming gift that is sure to be remembered and enjoyed for years to come.
