I have a confession to make, I am a Sharpie hoarder. I know, I’m not proud. I have at least 30 Sharpies of different colors around my house right now. I’m not sure where they all came from, but I do know that it’s probably a bigger collection of Sharpies than any one person needs from a practical standpoint.
However, from a CRAFTING standpoint, my out-of-control Sharpie collection is a goldmine! :-) Using Sharpies is an easy, mess-free way to add a splash of fun color to any DIY or craft project. Sharpie crafts have been pretty popular this year, so I thought it was high time to do a roundup of some of my favorite projects that utilize my favorite marker!

What is your favorite way to use a sharpie?
I Too luv Sharpies n yes I have way to many in my pen cups through out my house lol..I actually use Sharpies
On my pen/pencil cup holders..such as oversized Mugs or Vases I find at thrift and Dollar stores.
I actually made my husband’s favorite coffee cup by taking a regular white mug and decorating n tracing his Football team in the colors and Logo! Super cheaper than buying 1 like it at Mall Sports shop!! Ty great tips n love reading ur blog Jillee! Happy Holidays hun! :0)
:-) Great way to color hair. Not! When in grade school, my daughter and her friend used them to dye their hair. The nun did not like it too much. It took many shampoos to fade the bright shades ( 3 or 4) they used. Now as an adult my daughter has a professional hair colorist.

Sister Sharpie freak!!! I, too, have Sharpies everywhere. I look for excuses to label things. Grandkids decorated tennis shoes, headbands, socks, plates, cups (I bought inexpensive plain white ones) and the dogs’ collars. Parts of the dogs, too. I love the plant markers. One of our favorite family reunion traditions is painting river rocks and we’ll be using Sharpies this year thanks to YOU.
Yes! Ha ha, gotta love a closet full of labels! Enjoy the “painting!” :-)
Yes!!! I love the plant markers, too. My husband and I are retiring this year and hitting the RV road. I plan to leave a ‘sharpie-painted’ rock at each camp site.
I used Sharpies on Sock Blanks (Google it). I let my small granddaughters help me mark them. Spray with alcohol to let the colors run. Heat-set with a steam iron. I knit ‘one of a kind’ socks for their mom.
Sounds fun, great idea CJ!
For dings, scratches and chips in paint on enamel appliances, I use nail polish to match. Looks like new and I’m the only one who knows………………I did use black sharpies for marking my reuseable water bottle, but found that black nail polish looks better and wears better…………………Good ideas though…….
Good to know!! Thanks for the tip Stacey!
When our large family gathers, we set a Sharpie next to the beverage service for everyone to mark his/her disposable cup so that it’s clear whose is whose once they’ve all been set down somewhere. Same could be done with water bottles.
I use a Sharpie marker to color in the dings on shoes, purses, and briefcases.
Smart! Thanks Carol!
Sharpies can be used on vellum to make your own “stained glass” windows! You just lay out your design in pencil, then color in, just like a coloring book when you were a kid. You can hang them in simple open frames, or just tape them up, but they add a great pop of color when the light is streaming in through the window!
How awesome – thanks for the idea Donna!
Cool ideas. I actually did the jewelry dish project. I use mine for keeping stuff like my keys and cellphone whenI. I don’t need to bring them with me.
Perfect!
Champagme and wine glasses can be decorated with Sharpie. Use inexpensive glasses or mugs and decorate to your liking. Simply coloring in dots is sweet. On a low temperature (350) , cool about 25 minutes to set the ink.
Cute idea, thanks Denise!
How long do I keep them in the oven?
