I blame the heat!! It finally got to me….and I snapped! How else do you explain the lapse in judgement it took to actually make this dessert!? I mean come on….FatBoy Sundaes! It just seems so wrong! But trust me….it tastes so right! :-) OK….maybe it wasn’t only the heat that had me going to the store to buy FatBoys to make this dessert (but that certainly was part of it! It’s been hot here!!!) I was also impressed with how quick and easy it was to make! Perfect for when you need a crowd-pleasing dessert in a hurry! (A seemingly regular occurrence around here.)
After making (and eating) this…I think next time I will leave out the Sweetened Condensed Milk. It’s plenty sweet and rich without it! However, if you’re looking for an “extreme” dessert….go ahead and keep it in! All 5 of us who ate this last night commented on how rich it was….but you didn’t see any left in our bowls either. :-)
FatBoy Hot Fudge Sundae Dessert
Adapted from the Norton Family Recipes blog
- 2 boxes of FatBoy ice cream sandwiches (6 to a box for a total of 12)
- 1 can of sweetened condensed milk
- 1 jar hot fudge topping
- 1 jar caramel topping
- 1 container Cool Whip
- Nuts (optional)
- Cherries (optional)
Line a 9 x 13 pan with the FatBoy sandwiches.
Use a fork or skewer to poke holes in each sandwich. (I realize there are ALREADY holes in the FatBoys…but you need more!)
Pour 1 can of sweetened condensed milk over top of sandwiches.
Heat jar of hot fudge sauce for approximately 30 seconds in the microwave. Stir. Pour hot fudge over the sweetened condensed milk.
Pour caramel over that. Place in freezer until all layers are frozen.
Remove from freezer, add a layer of Cool Whip, sprinkle with nuts and a few cherries (completely optional.) Serve and enjoy.
Can you tell some of us don’t like nuts? NOT ME! :-)
