Easy Sloppy Joe Recipe

Sloppy Joes make a quick and easy weeknight meal, and there are tons of tasty ways to use the leftovers!

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1 yellow onion diced
  • 1 bell pepper diced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 8 oz tomato sauce canned
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1-3 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Combine the tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard in a bowl and stir well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Heat the oil in a wide pan on your stovetop over medium heat.
  • When the oil is hot, add the ground beef, onion, and bell pepper and cook for 3-5 minutes.

  • Add garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the beef is fully cooked. Drain excess fat, if necessary.
  • Stir the sauce into the meat mixture, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
