Overnight Slow-Cooker Oatmeal For A Crowd

There are few things more comforting on a cold winter morning than a bowl of hot, comforting oatmeal. A few minutes of prep the night before will yield a crockpot full of warm, oatmeal-y goodness in the morning. Perfect for a house full of guests on Christmas morning….or really ANY morning!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups diced firm pears like D’Anjou
  • 1 cup steel-cut oats
  • 1/3 cup golden raisins
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. honey
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cups milk or milk substitu

Instructions

  • Coat your crockpot with a light layer of butter or non-stick spray.
  • Add all ingredients to your crockpot and then add the boiling water.
  • Stir well to incorporate, and cook the oats on low overnight, or for about 7 hours.
