I love sweaters! All sorts of sweaters. Cardigans, crew necks, turtlenecks, v-necks….I love them all. I might have a few of each. OK, more than a few! :-) Since I don’t like digging through dresser drawers or dealing with piles that are constantly falling over on closet shelves to find a particular sweater, I typically hang most of my sweaters. However, this presents a problem as well…those unsightly “hanger bumps” that can form on the shoulders.
It’s not a problem with all of my sweaters, but some are particularly troublesome and so when I saw this sweater-folding method I knew I’d found the solution! I call it “hang-folding.”
How To Hang-Fold Your Sweaters
Fold your sweater in half with the sleeves together. Place the hanger like this, with the hook in the arm pit.
Fold the body of the sweater at the waist over one side of the hanger.
Then fold the sleeves over the other side. Make sure the sweater is folded with the armpit of the sweater close to the neck of the hanger hook.
You have just mastered the art of hang-folding your sweater! Congratulations!
By hang-folding your sweaters you avoid unsightly “bumps” and stretched-out sweaters. Plus, it’s much easier to see all your sweaters at once and select the one you want to wear. No more piles of sweaters falling off closet shelves or digging around in dresser drawers.
If you have limited drawer space (who doesn’t?) or don’t like digging through piles of sweaters….give this trick a try and let me know what you think!
