While it might surprise you to hear this considering my obvious affection for cleaning gizmos and gadgets, I’ve never had an automated vacuum and mop. Since I’ve been loving my little robot vacuum, I thought I would share a few of the things I like most about it to give you a more complete picture of the advantages of this particular model. So let’s dive in!
3 Things I Love About My ECOVACS DEEBOT N8 Pro+
1. It Does The Dirty Work For You
While vacuuming itself doesn’t necessarily require that you get your hands dirty, emptying the canister (at least in experience) is a rather dusty affair. One of the things I love most about my DEEBOT N8 Pro+ is that it automatically self-empties into the charging station after cleaning, and the station’s disposable dust collection bag can hold months worth of dirt and debris.
That means I only have to change the bag about twice or so a month, which is really nice, and I appreciate that the bag is hypoallergenic and auto-seals the dust inside. If you suffer from allergies or just hate emptying your vacuum, the self-emptying feature is a total game changer.
2. It Has Surprisingly Powerful Suction
My skepticism about whether a small robot vacuum would have enough suction to get my floors truly clean turned out to be unwarranted. I only had to feel my carpet and hard floors after it had scooted over them to know that this little guy has surprisingly powerful suction—2600Pa, according to the box.
I didn’t actually know what that meant, so I turned to Google and learned that Pa is short for Pascal Pressure Unit. The higher the number, the more powerful the suction and the more dirt and debris the vacuum can suck up off the floor.
Apparently 2600Pa is enough suction to pick up AA batteries off your floor (though the vacuum itself is smart enough to not eat batteries). However, it does use all of that power to draw out dirt, dust, and pet hair from all the nooks and crannies in your carpets and hard floors. And it manages all of this suction power while remaining surprisingly quiet!
3. It Creates Incredibly Accurate Maps
This little machine uses lasers to accurately map your home, including 3D technology that helps it detect and avoid obstacles. This means that it covers every area you want it to—and none of the areas you don’t—thoroughly and efficiently.
The “custom boundaries” feature is great for skipping areas you don’t want or need cleaned. For example, say someone’s working on a puzzle on the floor in a certain area of your house. You could use the app to indicate the puzzle area as a “no-go zone,” and the vacuum will skip that section of the house until you change the settings again. How cool is that?
While I am only just beginning to figure out everything this little vacuum can do, I’m already very impressed after one weekend of use. I can’t wait to try the mopping feature on the tile floor in my kitchen!
