July is here, which means it’s time to talk about what’s worth stocking up on this month! :-) While July isn’t a particularly good month for big sales or deals, pricing isn’t the only thing worth considering when you’re deciding what to stock up on. Seasonality is also worth accounting for, because some items are only available during certain seasons.
And that’s exactly what we’ll be focusing on in today’s post, because July is the perfect time to stock up on all sorts of summertime essentials! Take advantage of summer’s bounty by stocking up on these 5 things this month. :-)
5 Things To Stock Up On In July
1. Seasonal Produce
There’s sure to be no shortage of deliciously ripe produce available this month, so be sure to stock up! Corn, plums, peaches, strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, cantaloupe, and watermelon will all be at their peak during the next several weeks.

2. Ice Cream
July is National Ice Cream month, so keep your eyes peeled for sales on ice cream at the store! You can also track down ice cream shops in your area on social media to find out if they are offering any deals on pints or other take-home ice cream options this month. If so, it would be a great opportunity to stock up for the rest of the summer!
3. Hot Dogs
July offers not just one, but two occasions to celebrate a true summertime staple: hot dogs. The whole month of July is National Hot Dog Month, while July 18th is apparently National Hot Dog Day. So regardless of whether you’re celebrating all month long or only on the 18th, you’re likely to find some sweet deals on hot dogs in mid-July!
Stock up for your National Hot Dog Day Barbecue Bash, then freeze the rest for later. ;-)
4. Buns
Hamburger and hot dog buns are ubiquitous at summer barbecues, so stores usually stock a lot of them at the beginning of summer. But buns don’t have a very long shelf life, so as the days go by, stores will start to drop their prices.
Take advantage of the discounted prices by stocking up on buns and freezing them to use all summer long. (They actually thaw surprisingly well!)
5. Fireworks
If you’re looking for great prices on fireworks, the days immediately following the 4th of July are the best time to buy. In fact, it’s not uncommon to find 3-for-1 or even 4-for-1 deals at fireworks stands after the 4th!
If you’re planning a wedding reception with a sparkler send-off, even if it’s months away, you’ll save yourself a lot of money by stocking up this month instead!

People who use fireworks will always use fireworks. Hopefully they’re considerate and careful. If you don’t like them, it’s easy, don’t use them.

One of the best ways to celebrate the Fourth of July is to find out why we have this day and then honor that reason. You can do that while you’re grilling the hot dogs you’ve stocked up on and enjoying the bounty of July’s produce. Fireworks really don’t mean very much regarding this important day. Please be kind to our vets and the animals around you.

Now a professional fireworks display would be very cool! Especially when the couple walks back down the aisle to leave the ceremony.
