The title of this post might be a little misleading…it IS a “family favorite,” but not of MY family….yet. Actually it most likely will be, but since we’ve only had it once, so far, it’s a little early to give it that particular distinction.
This is actually a “family favorite” of my book editor, Kerri. Which is also a little misleading because Kerri is a vegetarian! LOL. Is that confusing enough? Sorry, I just thought it was so funny that Kerri has never actually eaten her family’s favorite quick & easy slow cooker recipe. :-) But based on her recommendation and that of her whole family, who LOVE it, I decided to give it a try! Good call on my part!
This is one of those slow cooker recipes that you will go to time after time when you’re in the mood for SIMPLE & DELICIOUS!
Slow Cooker Skirt Steak

- 2-3 lbs. of skirt steak (if you can’t find skirt steak, flank steak makes a good substitute)
- Soy Vay Veri Veri Teriyaki Marinade (I couldn’t find this in any stores around me so I substituted another brand)
- Juice of 1 orange (or substitute juice from concentrate or even a drop of Wild Orange essential oil)
- Salt and Black Pepper
Take the meat out of the package and pat it dry with paper towels.
Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides.
Placed steak in the slow cooker, and pour in enough teriyaki sauce to just barely cover it.
Add the orange juice. Cook on low for 6 hours. Serve with brown rice and roasted cauliflower (or whatever sides your family likes!)
That’s it! It really couldn’t be easier. Sometimes the simplest recipes really ARE the BEST! Thank you for sharing it Kerri! I just wish you could taste how good it is! ;-)
