Can you believe that Halloween is in ONE WEEK? I really have no idea where this month has gone. The holidays will be here before we know it! Even though Halloween is also a holiday, it’s definitely a low-key affair around our house. (One of the perks of having grown-up kids!) But even so, we still like to get into the spirit of Halloween, whether it’s watching our favorite Halloween movies, dressing up for parties, or just simply pigging out on Reese’s Pumpkins. Not that I would know anything about that…
Last week I shared some easy and practical ideas for celebrating Halloween, so today I thought I’d shift gears and focus on the “sweeter” side of the holiday.

I hope you’re hungry, because today I’m sharing some of my favorite Halloween treats! We’ll kick things off with some Halloween Hot Cocoa, inspired by Family Fresh Meals. This warm and chocolatey cocoa (featuring mini marshmallows with a spooky twist) is sure to warm up those hardworking trick-or-treaters of yours. I also happen to know that a cup of Halloween Hot Cocoa pairs perfectly with a screening of one of my all-time favorite movies, Hocus Pocus. ;-)

Halloween Hot Cocoa
You’ll need:
- Mini marshmallows
- Food coloring markers
- A prepared batch of Creamy Crockpot Cocoa (or your favorite cocoa recipe)
Directions:
This is so straight-forward, I probably don’t even need to include any directions, but I will anyway. :-) Use your food coloring marker to draw spooky faces on your mini marshmallows. You can also jot down little Halloween phrases to toss in there as well. Maybe a few that say “Boo!” or “Oooo…” (I’m not sure what other phrases you could squeeze onto a mini marshmallow, but I’m open to suggestions.)
Fill your favorite mug with hot cocoa, and toss in a few of your spooky marshmallows for a frightfully delicious treat!
