A funny thing happened the other day. I was at a business meeting and one of the gentlemen present said his wife had seen a pin on Pinterest about my “No. 2 Spray” for the bathroom. He said they made some up and loved it so much they made a SECOND bottle for the bathroom at his office. When I went to use the facilities before I left, sure enough, there it was sitting on the back of the toilet. :-) Apparently it has been a big hit with the whole office.
One thing they did differently when they mixed up the office bathroom potion was to make it more potent. Without going into too much graphic detail, the guys in the office said they needed an extra strength formula. :-)
So today I decided to mix up an extra strength version of my No. 2 Spray and was really pleased with the results! Definitely more potent and I do believe more effective as well.
Here is a little background about the spray:
Someone emailed me a long time ago asking if I knew how to make a homemade version of the popular bathroom spray, “Poo-Pourri”. Have you heard of it? I hadn’t, but it definitely sounded intriguing…so I immediately went on a search for it.
Turns out almost everybody who has tried this stuff, loves it! All you do is spray their proprietary blend of “Lemongrass, Bergamot, Grapefruit and other natural essential oils” in the toilet before you “go”, creating a film on the surface of the water, which traps any odors!
Sounds simple enough! Of course I’m sure their super secret, patent-pending blend probably has some fancy scientific formulation behind it that makes it Poo-rrific! But I believe in the power of essential oils to help just about any condition on their own…so I decided to let them shine in MY super not-so-secret non-patent-pending blend.
No. 2 Spray (Extra Strength)
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 20 drops Lemongrass essential oil
- 20 drops Grapefruit essential oil
- 20 drops Bergamot essential oil
- 2 ounces of water
- (1) 2 oz dark glass spray bottle
How to use:
BEFORE “nature calls”, shake the bottle again and then spritz the #2 Spray into the toilet bowl. Approximately 3 or 4 spritzes should do it. Then do your “business”. The oils will disperse over the water creating a vapor barrier and trapping any offensive odors!
I called this my “extra strength” version of No. 2 Spray…but initial reaction to it in our house makes me think this will now be our “regular strength” spray.
I hope you will try it and let me know what you think. And don’t forget to share it with your office too! :-)
