Happy February everyone, and happy Groundhog Day, too! With Valentine’s Day and Presidents’ Day also coming up, there’s plenty to look forward to this month. And it only gets better when you consider just how many great deals you can take advantage of throughout February! Today I’ll be sharing 11 items that are often discounted in February. If you’ve been planning on buying any of these items, keep your eyes peeled for these deals! :-)
Curious about what deals you can score in March, April, or even August? I’ve got you covered all year! Check in around the beginning of each month in 2018, because I’ll be sharing a post like this one letting you know what deals to look out for that month!
February Is The Best Month To Buy…
1. Furniture
Furniture manufacturers release their new designs every spring, which means retailers need to clear out last year’s designs early in the year. That’s good news for you, because it means you can find great deals on last year’s models during the month of February!
2. Lobster & Steak
Grocery stores stock up on more expensive types of meat and seafood in early February in preparation for Valentine’s Day. But after Valentine’s Day, stores often discount their leftover stock of these items. So if you head to the grocery store on February 15th, you’re likely to score a great deal on steaks, lobsters, and more! You can whip up a fancy “surf ’n turf” meal for an unusually reasonable price. :-)
3. Humidifiers
Most people think about buying a humidifier earlier in the winter, so you will see them start to go on sale in February. But you can take advantage of sale prices on a humidifier now, and still have plenty of wintertime left to experience the benefits! I recently bought one for my living room, and now I can’t imagine living through the winter without it!
4. Cellphones
Some manufacturers and wireless carriers offer buy-one-get-one deals on smartphones during February. These deals are aimed at sweethearts for Valentine’s Day, but anyone can (and should) take advantage of them, especially if you’ve been needing a replacement!
5. Chocolate
After Valentine’s Day, you’ll be able to find steep discounts on chocolates in almost any grocery store. Stock up on all your favorites!
6. Perfume & Cologne
Okay, so you might not find huge discounts on perfume and cologne themselves. However, you can often take advantage of great free gifts with the purchase of perfume or cologne during the month of February! Some of the free gifts I’ve come across while browsing include tote and duffel bags, makeup palettes, travel-size cosmetics, and more.
7. Canned Food
Did you know that February is National Canned Food Month? You can celebrate by snagging great deals on canned, dried, and bulk foods this month at many grocery stores. Stock up on all your favorites, like beans, tomatoes, corn, and more. (It’s also a great time to buy a few extras to donate to your local food bank!)
8. Tax Software
You’ll find the best discounts on tax software during February. Take advantage of these sales and get your taxes done ahead of time!
9. Clothes & Linens
February 19th is Presidents’ Day, and that means Presidents’ Day Sales! Keep an eye out for sales and discounts on clothes, linens, home goods, and even laptops.
10. Ski Trips
During February, look for special discounts on ski trip vacation packages to Utah and Colorado. The busy season for ski trips is usually around the holidays, so companies start to offer sales and discounts on trips once the hubbub dies down. And ski season often lasts well into April, so there should still be plenty of snow left to enjoy!
11. Broadway Tickets
If you’ve been dreaming about a trip to NYC to see a Broadway show, February can be a great time to do it! Broadway tickets are often less expensive during the spring, and you’ll enjoy less chaotic travel and shorter wait lines.
Jill! I LOVE your cardigans. Do you get them from J. Crew? I love your bright colors and pretty pastels :)
Thank you! Yes, they are from J. Crew!
That’s good information to know. I was just talking with my mom the other day about the chairs in our kitchen. She was telling me that my dad was thinking of replacing them. So this is great timing for this info. I love the phone case. I was able to find a one on clearance at Walmart for mine. I only paid $5.00 for it. I was wanting an expensive one.. They also sell screen protectors for a reasonable price.
I need a phone case for my new phone. I probably need a screen protector. I had to replace my old cell phone before Thanksgiving as they no longer make a battery for my old phone. It’s been awhile.
I bought a bicycle earlier this week at Walmart on Clearance for $19. So, I would say if you are looking for a deal on bicycles, look after Christmas.
Wow! Great tip, thanks Deborah!
Hi Jillie this morning I read about baking soda in coffee is possible you could send this back to me for a friend who has acid reflex. Thank you
I’m sorry Diane, I’m not quite sure what you’re asking about. I haven’t ever posted about adding baking soda to coffee… Maybe to clean coffee stains out of your mugs! :-)
Perhaps coffee isn’t the best thing for your acid-reflux friend to drink! Or citrus juices, either. Maybe you can wean him/her over to tea?
OMG, I love, love these ideas/tips. So wonderful, and I or sure will be taking advantage of these. Have a great weekend
Where did you get that humidifier and what was the price? I am having a hard time finding a good looking humidifier at a $ 25.00 and below price! Thanks, Marcy
The one in the photo is close to $50. Here are a few other options! https://amzn.to/2BNOsGZ
I would also like to know where that phone case came from – I love it!
