Fall is officially here! And so is a brand new month, which means it’s time for a new installment in my ongoing series of “stock up guides.”
As always, today I’ll be letting you know about sales, discounts, and deals that will be going on during the month of October. Events like these are excellent opportunities to stock up on things you buy all the time for less than you’d typically pay.
So without further ado, here are 7 things you may want to stock up on in the coming weeks!
7 Things To Stock Up On In October
1. Coffee
As the temperatures start to drop off, deals on coffee are sure to heat up! Keep an eye out for low prices on ground coffee, instant coffee, and even K-cups at Target, Walgreens, Amazon, and other retailers.
Stock up if you find a good deal and freeze whatever you won’t use right away. Coffee doesn’t keep indefinitely, but keeping it frozen can lengthen its lifespan considerably! Ground coffee can be of great practical use around the house.
2. Cake Mix
Bakers (and cake lovers) rejoice, because Betty Crocker cake mixes are sure to go on sale this month! If you see a great sale, don’t hesitate to stock up on cake mixes for birthdays, holidays, or any other upcoming occasion!
You can sometimes even find these mixes at dollar stores, so keep your eyes peeled!
3. Pizza
October is National Pizza Month, and who wouldn’t want to celebrate that? ;-) Keep an eye out for deals and discounts on pizza and pizza ingredients at grocery stores and your local pizza chains.
4. Tacos
Speaking of things worth celebrating, October 4th is National Taco Day! Swing by your favorite taco joint to take advantage of celebratory sales and even snag some freebies if you’re lucky!
Some grocery stores even offer one-day sales on taco ingredients like taco sauce, tortillas, and more, so stock up!
5. Flowers
Now that the summer growing season is over, nurseries are marking down their flowers to the lowest prices you’ll see all year. Stock up on flowers to grow indoors during the cold months or in your greenhouse, if you have one!
6. Produce
Fall produce is here in abundance! Make the most of it by stocking up on apples, carrots, cauliflower, corn, kale, melons, peaches, and all sorts of varieties of squash.
7. Costumes
Prices on Halloween costumes drop to their lowest just before Halloween, making it a great time to stock up on costumes! They make great birthday and Christmas gifts for kids, so stocking up now can save you time and effort down the road!
…And More!

Great ideas. We actually occasionally we have people who are from out our area who will buy a lot of Taco shells and seasonings when they’re in town because they can’t get certain ones in their home states. It just amazes me sometimes.

One of the overlooked, best deals is k-cups from Big Lots. Their Verona’s Columbian and French Roast are very good at $30 for an 80-pk but when they have their 20% quarterly Friends and Family they rock even more.

I wonder if you could do a discussion on false teeth. I find myself in need of having false teeth for my top teeth. I never see anyone taking about what to expect or what to look for. Guess it is something people do not like to talk about. I do not like the idea either, but going to have to.
Thank you,

Many of the shots I’ve had to have the past three years have terrible effects on your teeth. 15-10 years ago I was getting shots every three months or less and again the past three. I was so surprised when the 1st Dr told me my teeth would begin breaking up from the shots; but I had to have the shots.

Thought I would never get used to bottom set, don’t hesitate to go back for a reline , don’t give up and keep trying, it takes a while
