A friend told me you have a carpet spot remover “recipe”. My spots are dog pee stains. Can you help?
Linda….this is the most effective carpet cleaning method I’ve ever used. Hopefully it will help!

I have just discovered your blog and loving it! I have been on and off for hours now. Thanks for sharing, will be on my bookmarks for sure.
Love your blog! Don’t ever leave me :)
hahaha! Never. Stick with me Rebecca. :-) And thank you! Love hearing that!
You are amazing! I have been making stuff from your page all morning! Life will never be the same (or as expensive) as it was before you :o) Keep up the awesome work && Thanks!
Love your blog!!! I have just sent the link to my daughter, I think she will love it as well. What do you clean your drip pans under the stove top eyes with???? I’ll bet one of these recipes for cleaners will be cheap and easy to use. Love your blog!!! Oh, wait, I already said that….
WAIT!!! NEVERMIND! I kept reading and found it. Now, I’m going to the DYI section. See ya!
Using the home made laundry detergent works well for this pupose too. Let it soak. I use it for all hard to clean pans and related items.
Hey Jillee
I’m hoping you can help me before my wife kills me
I spilt engine oil all over an expensive black duffle coat and it is soaked In oil I have tried to soak up as much as I can with towels but I don’t know if I can save it please help
Me and save my life hahaha.
Cheers Tim
I am so excited to try so many of your cleaning recipes!!! I stumbled upon your recipes today and I am hooked!!!! Thanks for saving me some $$$$$$$
Do you have any “miracle” solutions for cleaning microwaves? I don’t know what all has exploded in mine, but it is scary!!!! And of course it is above the cooktop (glass) so I can’t really get eye level with it to get a lot of elbow grease in it! And you know all the nasty stuff you got off your vent filter? That’s also in my microwave. YUCK!!!
Jenna….have you tried “steam cleaning” your microwave? Put a 50/50 mixture of water and vinegar in a heat-safe bowl (I used a pyrex measuring cup) and “cook” it in the microwave until it gets the inside good and steamy! 5 to 10 minutes. Everything inside will wipe right off! Hope this helps! :-)
OMG!! I am convinced! It worked! Except for the teeny little corners where gunk has cowered, the inside of my microwave looks brand new (and it wasn’t even new when it was handed down to me).
I have made the “shout” stain remover, the wet cloth dryer sheets, and the no-cook laundry detergent, which I LOVE!!
Thanks for your dedication to this blog. I have been on it for the last four days (as I just discovered it). I feel that I have been duped for so many years by the manufacturers of cleaning products that don’t work. I fully admit that my motives for trying so many of these homemade products is purely financial. I am gratified that they also seem to be friendlier to our environment as well as reducing my environmental footprint.
Hey Jillee… I had been using a swiffer to scrub my vinyl floors but my cats seem to enjoy the taste then get sick. I got myself one of those “swiffer-like” spray mops that you can put your own cleaner in it. I LOVE IT! Works better than the “swiffer” … but I used 2 T of vinegar with water to scrub the floors. Now they are clean, and “pet-edible” but they are streaky and dull. Any suggestions of something I could put in that mop that would clean, streak-free, shine AND be “pet-edible”??? Thanks so much! I’ve made MANY of your recipes and passed along tons to my family and friends!

can you help me with the black stops on the top of my glass top electric. i have bought all the stor brands and can’t get them off. i have tried baking soda, lemon juice with salt, no luck hope you can help thanks!!!lyn
use her homemade miracle cleaner. it took off scorch marks and stuff a magic eraser wouldn’t touch. my stove top is so pretty now!
I just heard about your website from a friend a few days ago and I love it!!!! I am especially intrigued by all the “homemade solutions” especially the laundry stuff. But today when I came back to find the “recipe” for homemade fabric softener, NONE of them are under the categories tab!!! When I click on it, all I get are the comments! I don’t know what happened???? Is it a technical difficulty, or is it just me??? HELP! I am already addicted to your website, and can’t get to what I want, no matter where I click!!!! :(
Hi Cheryl…..yes, it was a technical snafu! Thanks for bringing to my attention though! I had no idea. It should be fixed now. :-)
Glad you like the website! Welcome :-)
Just wanted to say hello. Please keep doing what you do. You are my new best friend. Bye-Bye
Thanks Christine! :-) I have no intentions of stopping. I think you’re all “stuck” with me. ;-)
i was looking for how to clean the drip pans on my stove and i just can’t seem to find it PLEASEHELP they are gross!!!!!!
Here you go Robyn :-)

Jillee,
First off, I must say that my fiance and I LOVE your blog! I was actually wondering whether or not you have any suggestions for a homemade bleach alternative? You have inspired us to give the majority of our pricey, harmful chemicals the boot — but I have yet to find a suitable replacement for my jug of bleach! After having replaced nearly every other cleaner, I cringe at the thought of continuing to dump bleach into our laundry.
Thanks!
Cheyenne…that is actually something I have looked into but not posted about yet. thanks for the reminder! I’ll get back you. :-)
And THANK you :-)
LOVE this site and LOVE what u do! Thank u! I am looking for a natural hair conditioner recipe that is not made from food! All the ones I find say to use food, like egg and mayo! I seen the deep conditioner but wasn’t sure if it was something I could use just daily/ weekly? Again thanks for all you do!!
I am looking for an effective solution for cleaning my iron. It is leaving black marks on items when ironed. Any suggestions?
Does anyone know how to make Shout Color Catchers?
I am so thrilled I stumbled across your blog. I am far from a domestic goddess… and I love all the tips, tricks and shortcuts! I have been making my own laundry detergent for years and am excited to try more of your homemade concoctions! Cant wait for more! Thanks!
As a single mom I love this site- I have stopped buying cleaners and I am making a little of everything from this site. Does anyone have an alternative to Oven Cleaner for the burner pans on your stovestop? Something non-toxic smelling too. I have been recomending this site to all my friends- Thank- you!!!
I love your blog! I have a family of six and we are trying to do the Dave Ramsey plan. Your homemade products are a great find for pinching pennies!
Tiffany
Got a question..I see you have some lotions on here. Has anyone come up with one to replace those over price shave less lotions. I found a site that had the tan lotions..really simple coco powder in lotion, but I’m someone who has to shave everyday. Shoot by most evenings I have stubble. I have tried those lotions that claim to remove hair without shaving..they stink. spent $$$$ to find they worse less them me shaving everyday.
I read that Exfoliate helps. how about a lotion that does that too??
Any help would be great. Thanks
I must say, I’ve been to your blog several times from different Pinterest pins and now I’ve just decided to save time and bookmark your blog! You have so many great “recipes” for homemade, well, everything! Thanks so much for taking out all of the guess work for us with your trial and error!
Hi Jill
Love your blog so much, its give me an inspiration, the recipe easy to practice, and yummy before I read your blog i have lil’bit problem to cook but now I feel fun to cook :) and your home made solution working great. salute hope another post soon. regard :)
I read about your carpet cleaner…. which just looks amazing…. but I am trying to clean a love seat… and I am allergic to ammonia…any thoughts or suggestions???? Thank you very much!!
Your blog is so helpful. I just made your homemade laundry detergent and I love it! It’s going to save me so much money! Thank you so much for everything.
I found your website because I was looking for organic shampoos and conditioners and your page popped up with the make it yourself shampoo and conditioner and since then, I am OBSESSED with your website! I’m ready to try all your homemade goods :) THANK YOU! :)
Can you share some more information about Carpet cleaning with some pictures also, I really like to see. Thanks
If you type “Carpet Cleaning” into the search bar near the top of my blog you’ll be able to see all of my carpet cleaning posts.
I love your website, Jilly!! Its the beest thin since sliced bread, lol.
Was just browsing for Simple moisturising lotion and got 401′d (does not exist – select home)
Then I tried the home made carpet cleaner (401 error).
Tried again for the Marshmellow frosting for Angel food cupcakes (401 error)!!
Was wondring if you remove some of the blogs sometimes.
Have a great weekend
Soooo funny – see my question was posted @ 4:28 pm….In S.A it is currently 00:37 am.. What can I say, I love this site!!! Will probably hang aroud till 3am
Jilee thank you so much for making it so simple to find info i want. Have tried your skin brightner, oils to cleanse face, microdermabrasion and. How to remove dark eye circles (which I’ve never been able to get rid off) using the tumeric recipe. EVERYTHING works just as you say. Thank-you again. xxxxxx
I’m SO addicted to this site!! SO much useful information!! Thank you!! I log on at least once a day :)
This is an awesome site, in fact I’m cleaning my dish washer as I write. I can’t wait to see how clean it comes using the homemade solution! I’m taking before and after photos to share the success with friends. Later today, it’s dryer sheets! Thanks for the cool solutions. They’re much preferred to throwing things away that can be used again. Kind of like recipes for left-overs LOL!
Love your blog. Have it in my bookmarks and am making items as we speak. Keep up the good work and thank you.
THANK YOU SO MUCH JILLEE! I made baby wipes, glass cleaner wipes, disinfecting wipes, Laundry detergent, Fabric softner and Febreeze last nite. i was sooo excited to see they all worked great and saved me so much money. U have helped me carry on my new years resolution of trying to save money any way i can. My hubby is even excited. The Fabric softner is the best idea in the world cause i am allergic to all store bought ones. so last nite after making it i just rubbed all over my hands to make sure i wasnt going to have allergic reaction n I DIDNT. sooo happy thanks again
good point
Hi there! This is kind of off topic but I
need some help from an established blog. Is it very difficult to
set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast. I’m thinking about setting up
my own but I’m not sure where to start. Do you have any tips or suggestions? Cheers
