Over the last couple of months I have been heralding the benefits of a new essential oil blend called “Dream“ that has been helping me (and many, many others) get a better night’s sleep! The first time I experienced the magic of this blend was when my sister Rebecca made me some of her Dream-y Sleep Salve. I’d been having a hard time sleeping, so one night I slathered it all over my feet, put some socks on and slept like a baby all night long! I was sold! I made up a batch for myself and have been using it ever since!
There is one small problem I have with this method, however, and it has to do with the fact that I am a night-owl and my husband is not. He goes to bed earlier than I do most nights and so when I climb in bed at night (or the wee small hours of the morning) I have to find the jar of salve, take the top off, rub it on my feet, put the lid back on the jar, and then put socks on. It’s noisy and I have to turn on a light to see what I’m doing. I was talking with my sister about this and she said she had the exact same problem. So I figured if WE did, then maybe a few of you do too.
That’s when I remembered the recent post I did about making your own “Winter Cheeks Sticks“ and realized the solution was staring me right in the face each time I used my homemade “chapstick!” All I had to do was mix up a new batch using Dream Blend (instead of Lavender) and problem solved!
Make Your Own “Dream Sticks”
Instead of “re-inventing the wheel” here, I am simply going to direct you to my post about how to make the “Winter Cheeks Sticks” for step-by-step directions and photos. CLICK HERE to go to that post.
You’re going to follow the same process for making the sticks WITH ONE EXCEPTION. You’re going to replace the 20 drops of Lavender essential oil with 45 drops of Dream Blend. The rest you do exactly the same.
I made MY sticks with lip balm tubes, but another option would be to use empty deodorant tubes for your Dream Sticks. Cover a larger area in less time. :-)
Once you have made your sticks…..simply apply liberally to the bottom and top of both feet after you’ve climbed into bed and get ready to experience sweet dreams (without waking anyone up!) :-)
OH…..and be sure to save some to use on the kiddos feet on Christmas Eve so everyone in the house can enjoy a “long winter’s nap!”
