I often have trouble falling asleep, but I really don’t like taking sleeping pills or sleep aids if I can avoid it. They do help me fall asleep, but I hate the groggy, out-of-sorts feeling I always have when I wake up the next morning.
Essential oils have been a huge help to me in this regard, because they offer sleep-related benefits without morning grogginess. Studies have shown that oils like lavender and marjoram can help improve sleep quality and quality of life.
Both of those essential oils play a starring role in the essential oil blend that has become my trusty bedtime companion over the past few months. So today we’ll explore the various ways that Slumber essential oil blend can be a useful tool in your quest for better sleep!

What Is Slumber Blend?
Slumber blend contains lavender, cedarwood, lime, bergamot, marjoram, and vetiver essential oils, all blended together in fractionated coconut oil. This earthy combination of oils can help relieve stress, promote peaceful feelings, and support a good night’s sleep!
I like to add 2-3 drops to my diffuser at bedtime, but there are plenty of other ways to use Slumber blend too! Here are a few of the other options you have when using this blend.
4 Ways To Use Slumber Essential Oil Blend For Better Sleep
1. In A Diffuser
Add a few drops of Slumber blend to your diffuser and start it up before turning in for the night. The relaxing scent will fill your bedroom to help both you and your partner get a good night’s sleep! But you don’t have to take my word for it—check out these reviews from my shop!
2. In A Roller Bottle
Add 5-10 drops of Slumber blend to a roller bottle, then top it off with fractionated coconut oil (or whichever carrier oil you prefer.) To use it, simply swipe the roller onto the soles of your feet before bedtime!
3. In A Salve
If you dream of great sleep and softer, more moisturized feet, make your very own Sleep Salve! Just whip up this all-natural salve recipe using Slumber essential oil blend. Slather a generous amount of Sleep Salve onto your feet before bedtime and pull on a pair of socks. You’ll get some high-quality shut-eye and wake up with softer, smoother feet too!
4. In A Spray
You can also use Slumber blend to make a simple spray to mist onto bedding and pillows. This is a more subtle option that will still help promote sound sleep, making it great for children or people who are sensitive to strong scents. Make a Slumber spray to mist over bedding and pillows by adding 15 drops to 1 cup of distilled water to a small spray bottle. Shake well before each use.

For those of use that use essential oils and would like to make our own, would you share the breakdown of how much of each essential oil to use, please? If not, I totally understand.
Tried this in the salve…did absolutely nothing to help me sleep.
I’ve never used an oil diffuser. Does that oil get deposited on surfaces in the room?
Essential oils are not technically oils unless they are cheap and have oil in them. A pure essential oil should not deposit any oil on the surfaces.
No, it doesn’t reach surfaces in your home. The couple drops of oil that you add are mixed with water, they combine, and all that leaves the diffuser is a vapor. :-)
I can’t knock EO’s not having tried them, but exercise has always been what helps me sleep. I do an hour of medium to high intensity activity like running or biking, OR 3 hours of low-intensity activity like yard work (although this doesn’t happen often), 6 days per week – or (usually) a combination, e.g., 45 minutes each at different times of the day. I’m tired and ready for bed by 10-11pm, and my husband is jealous of how quickly I drop off once my head hits the pillow. My regimen may not be practical for a lot of people… Read more »
Thank you for the “foot idea”. I use a cpap machine and oils can’t go in the water well. It’s great to have an alternative!
I use a CPAP also and have had luck putting the essential oil on the air filter. It really helps me!
I use a sleep blend called calming sleep.. I checked the ingredients. They were different than Jillees blend. I also use the zzz quil salve by Vick’s. My main problem is I’m kind of awake earlier than I want to be. Part of it is having worked an early shift for many years. I’m not the only one in my family who has trouble sleeping. I’m wondering if some of it might be pre- menopause related. Great information with your salve. I may have to try it.
Very good.
