It has been an especially cold, dry winter here in Utah and my skin and I have had enough! With spring on it’s way (crossing fingers here!) I’ve been looking for something to treat my rough, cracked heels before sandal-wearing weather rolls around.
When I came across this cheap and simple solution, I had to try it! I’m so glad that I did, because unlike moisturizers and creams, this method gets rid of the cracks and dry spots in just one treatment! Plus, it’s all-natural, and you probably have everything you need in your kitchen right now!

Start by cutting a lemon in half and juicing each of the halves. Choose a large lemon that’s bright and just a little squishy.
You want to juice almost all of the liquid, but leave a bit of pulp on the inside of the two lemon halves.
Now place each of your heels into one of the lemon halves. Don’t mind the squish! ;-)
Next, put a pair of socks on over the lemon halves. Keep the lemons on your heels for about 30 minutes. It’s a little hard to walk around with lemon feet, so just sit down and relax with your favorite show or book. :-)
After 30 minutes, take off the socks and throw away the lemon halves. The acid from the lemon removes dead skin cells and softens skin. All the rough, cracked parts of skin will be soft, smooth and your feet will smell lemony-fresh!
I am so happy with the results of this all-natural, cheap and simple remedy. It felt so nice, and gave me a reason to relax – win, win!
