April is here, and not a moment too soon either! :-) Spring is no longer just a distant dream, and Spring Fever is spreading like an epidemic! With the arrival of warmer weather and longer days, there’s plenty to celebrate this month. And as luck would have it, there are plenty of great sales and deals to celebrate this month too! :-)
Today I’ll be sharing 7 things worth stocking up on this month to take advantage of these seasonal low prices. From plants to produce to pretzels, April will be packed with opportunities to stock up!
7 Things To Stock Up On In April
1. Eggs
Eggs often go on sale around Easter, which falls on Sunday, April 21st this year. You may even be able to find prices as low as $1 for a dozen eggs! It’s a great opportunity to stock up on eggs for Easter recipes and egg dyeing, but it’s also a great opportunity to stock your freezer with eggs for a great low price. 2. Ham
Another food you’ll find on sale around Easter is ham. Prices often drop as low as $1.50 per pound during this time! Stock up hams for your Easter festivities, and keep a few in the freezer to eat later.
3. Easter Gifts & Candy
Baskets full of candy and small gifts are an Easter tradition, so you’re sure to find them on sale in the weeks before the Easter holiday. But many “Easter-themed” gifts are just brightly colored, so why not stock up on those and give them as gifts throughout the year? (Check out the link below for some visual examples.)
And you can always find deep discounts on these items in the days directly after Easter, so it pays to wait until those clearance sales to stock up!

4. Soft Pretzels
April 26th is National Soft Pretzel Day! Look for sales and discounts on pre-baked and frozen soft pretzels at grocery stores, and at any local bakeries that make soft pretzels. (Companies often share details about fun “holiday” promotions like these on their social media accounts, so follow them now if you want to be in the loop!)
5. Eco-Friendly Products
This year, Earth Day falls on Monday, April 22nd. That’s sure to mean discounts on eco-friendly products like organic snacks, reusable shopping bags, reusable water bottles, efficient LED lighting, and much more. Take advantage of these unique sales by stocking up on your favorite eco-friendly products!
6. Plants
Spring is in the air, which means it will soon be time for spring planting! Both big box stores and local nurseries will be offering great prices on seeds, bulbs, flowers, houseplants, and gardening tools. Home Depot and Lowe’s both offer price-matching for competitor’s sales prices, so you can get the best deal possible and stock up for less.
7. Seasonal Produce
Stock up on spring produce this month for a great low price! Artichokes, asparagus, avocados, beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, grapefruit, mushrooms, onions, peas, rhubarb, and strawberries are all in season in April, so keep your eyes peeled for those great sale prices!
… And More!

What will you be stocking up on this month?
as to plants; browse the plant aisles and pick up very wilted plants and take them home to soak their roots overnight-usually good results within a week if you baby them-if not, you are not out much. Usually you can get them at least 50% off; I scored yesterday on a ficus pumila and got 75% off. You can do this with annuals also. Just negotiate with the staff. The Hydrangea I bought mostly dead at Home Depot last fall has very nice foliage coming out now-got it at 75% also.
