Nowadays with all the options available to us that make gift-giving simple, sometimes it can actually feel HARDER to give a meaningful gift! At the push of a button we can order a gift to be sent to someone across the country without ever having to exchange any pleasantries….or we can simply pick up a gift card at the grocery store and stick it in an envelope and be done. Don’t get me wrong….I love gift cards! They enable us to give gifts that we wouldn’t normally be able to…like things from stores we live nowhere near, or experiences that you can’t put in a box…like a nice dinner and a movie! (I love those gift cards!)
So in an effort to elevate the experience of giving and receiving the practical (but admittedly uninspiring) gift card…here are some ideas I came up with while perusing the aisles of my local grocery store. I challenged myself to take 6 common gift cards that can be found in most supermarkets, and create a cute/clever package to present it with. This is by no means the ultimate guide to this idea, but hopefully it will inspire you to give your gift cards a little something extra this year. :-)
