I know that for my acne-prone kids, it’s hard for them to find a soap that helps clear blemishes, but doesn’t aggravate their skin. A lot of soaps tend to be too drying, or too exfoliating, or they don’t help enough to clear up their skin. And even though I no longer have to deal with acne (most of the time!) I still deal with skin conditions that can get aggravated by harsh soaps, like redness. That’s one of the reasons I love this soap! It helps clear up skin issues and soothes at the same time.
I have known about the cleaning and healing powers of bentonite clay for a few years (check out my post: The Health & Beauty Benefits Of Clay) but it has been used medicinally for thousands of years! The first recorded use of medicinal clay occurred in 2500 B.C. in Mesopotamia!
Until now, I’d never thought of combining those benefits with a soap, but these bars only take a few minutes to make, and they have received glowing reviews from my whole family! I love the foam-y quality that the clay adds to the soap, and my skin feels clean after washing with this soap, without feeling stripped or dried out. I think next time I make them, I’ll make a few extra and save them to use as gifts!

Foaming Clay Soap
Cut the soap base into smaller chunks, and place them into a large, microwave-safe bowl. Heat the soap base in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time until it has melted completely.
Add the clay to your melted soap base, and mix until the clay has been thoroughly incorporated.
Pour the clay and soap mixture into the cavities of your silicone mold.
Allow your soap to dry for several hours, or overnight, before removing them from the mold.
