Who doesn’t love a good party game, especially around the holidays? We always look forward to a few fun games at our work and family parties. But even the best party game can fall flat if the players don’t get “into it,” right? You kind of have to check your ego at the door for silly party games to get really fun. So why not provide a little extra incentive for your party guests to get into the game?
These quirky trophies are sure to get your guests into the spirit of things. Everyone secretly wants to win a trophy, even if it is made out of plastic cups and spare toys. ;-) They’re easy to make, and are sure to make your party games a hit with your guests!
Quirky DIY Trophies
- Hot glue gun
- Disposable cups of various styles (wine glasses, champagne glasses, etc.)
- Metallic spray paint
- Trinkets and toys
Start by assembling the body of your trophy. Select a few of your plastic cups, and try some different arrangements of the cups until you find one you like.
Then use your hot glue gun to glue the cups together.
If any of your cups have separate bases, glue those on for added sturdiness.
Select one of your trinkets or toys to serve as the topper for your trophy. Use your hot glue gun to glue it on.
In a well-ventilated area (or outside), spray your assembled trophy with metallic spray paint. Rust-Oleum’s American Accents line is usually our go-to spray paint for craft projects like these, because it’s so easy to work with and provides great coverage. Any metallic spray paint will work okay, but if you can, look for a paint/primer combo for easier application.
Feel free to get creative with your trophies! Try using different amounts of cups for different awards, like 3 cups for 1st place, 2 cups for 2nd place, etc. Or try finding trinkets that represent what the trophy is being awarded for (like a little pair of glasses for winning a trivia game, or a little wrapped gift for winning a gift-wrapping competition.)
Your friends, family, or party guests are sure to love these quirky keepsakes!
