Simple Handmade Gifts – Part Eight

A charming collection of simple handmade gifts, featuring a delightful collage of items such as pencils, jars, and a bunny.

I just love doing this kind of post! It is so fun to just get lost in the pursuit of simple handmade gifts. Just when I think I can’t possibly find anything new….I find dozens of ideas and then spend hours trying to decide which ones to use!

This happens to be my eighth installment of this post. I started with Parts One, Two, Three, and Four back in 2011 then added Parts Five, Six, and Seven in 2012. This is the first one I’ve been able to get to this year….so I packed it chock full of ideas!

I hope you enjoy….and more importantly are inspired in your handmade gift-giving this year. I know I’m going to try my hand at several on this list!

  2. We had a “beautiful things corner” growing up and while I don’t have a corner the value of handmade gifts lives on in my family so I have received (and given) many. It’s hard to pick a favorite because some are (or were) so useful and some so meaningful. I guess I have to go with an ornament my son made for us one Christmas when he was maybe 5 or 6 for the time of year. I also have a couple very special Valentine gifts and card he made several years later. But the wealth of ideas you offer us Jillee is invaluable to me helping me continue that tradition. Thank you!

  3. My favorite home-made gift was a little flowerpot Nativity set given to me by a lady at church. I treasure it!

  4. I can’t recall anything handmade that I’ve been given. But I have given handmade/homemade things to others. Last year I gave my mom a beautiful basket with vanilla sugar, lemon salt, maple syrup, home fragrances (all homemade, of course) and a couple store-bought things too.

  10. The best homemade gift that I have ever received was homemade bath fizzy bombs. A very good friend of mine gave them to me for my birthday about two years ago and I have to say they were very appreciated! I work full time, go to school part time, and have a 2 1/2 year old…needless to say my feet and the rest of my were grateful!

  14. The way my best friend asked me to be in her wedding party – she mailed me a package with a note, thanking me for being her friend in a addition to a spoon with the words “Will you be my moh (maid of honor)?” It was the sweetest gift ever! I still have the spoon displayed in my home.

    • Glad it isn’t just me. I haven’t received my daily email since the 15th or 16th (cups) I don’t think. I came to the site directly today worried something had happened to Jillee. I was so relieved to see that there had been posts each day! I will also re-subscribe but Jillee and staff you might want to look into this. No telling how many people this has happened to, unless I missed something and everyone needs to renew every so many months or something.
