Simple Handmade Gifts – Part Eight

A charming collection of simple handmade gifts, featuring a delightful collage of items such as pencils, jars, and a bunny.

I just love doing this kind of post! It is so fun to just get lost in the pursuit of simple handmade gifts. Just when I think I can’t possibly find anything new….I find dozens of ideas and then spend hours trying to decide which ones to use!

This happens to be my eighth installment of this post. I started with Parts One, Two, Three, and Four back in 2011 then added Parts Five, Six, and Seven in 2012. This is the first one I’ve been able to get to this year….so I packed it chock full of ideas!

I hope you enjoy….and more importantly are inspired in your handmade gift-giving this year. I know I’m going to try my hand at several on this list!

  3. I’m terrible at arts & crafts, so I forgo the homemade items. The want and ideas are there, the execution just sucks.

  4. Hey Jillee!
My mom and I love your stuff!
For the ladies: we always make, HOMEMADE soaps, body scrubs, stockings, deodorants and even toothpaste!
For the guys: we usually give some homemade jellies, pickled jalapenos and stuff (the guys in our family love cooking).
For the younger kids: we make cute little fabric covered journals with a box of crayons.
All the teenaged girls: LOVE our homemade infinity scarfs. Crocheted and sewed.
My dad: he loves Amazon! He buys everything on Amazon! This would be an awesome Christmas git for him!

  6. Every year my aunt gives me a storage tote full of handmade sweets from fudge to cookies, even a giant rice crispy treat. I love that she spends so much time making and distributing such a large amount of sweets to her family!

  8. I work at a doctor’s office and every year we have a patient who makes peppermint patties. She makes her own creamy peppermint for the middle and her own chocolate to dip them in. They are fantastic.

  9. My favorite hand made gift was from my mom. It was several Christmas hangings we had made when I was about 8 or 9. They were from a kit but we glued and sewed the pieces together and put glitter and sequins on it. I always loved to get them out when I was a child and it made me cry that she gave them to me.

  11. My favorite homemade gift has been anything I or my babies received that was knit by hand. In need to learn to knit!

  12. This has been fun! Last Christmas our family gave only handmade gifts….including our 14 year old grandson. It was the best Christmas ever! One of the gifts, that I’m just now using up, was from my 24 year old granddaughter. She knows that I love coffee, so she dipped plastic spoons in 3 types of melted chocolate, and coated them with peppermint or sprinkles, or drizzled with contrasting chocolate. Then she wrapped them each in pretty cellophane wrap. I stir my coffee (or cocoa!) and get an extra flavor treat!

  13. We make baskets of desserts (with the recipes included) and mini presents for our families every year. It’s always fun to get our kids involved in the baking and I love seeing the homemade ornaments and keepsake items they come up with. We decided years ago that it would be more fun to do these kinds of presents so that the grandparents could have something from them, made by them, and would able to watch the progression of the gifts from year to year.
